Are you a Jordan Peterson fan?
Quoting headline numbers to advance an argument is not substantiation, it's spin. You don't have to suffer physical harm to be a victim of violence, living in fear or having to inhibit oneself for fear of harassment makes you a victim. Strip the male victim numbers down to "innocent males suffering unprovoked harassment or harm" and then we start to get a more interesting picture, qualify it by sexuality or race of victims and attackers and you start to get to a more relevant truth, adjust for relative apparent strength, factor in physical attractiveness, whether either party was under the influence of alcohol or non-pacifying substances, and so on.
No idea who JP is, let alone a fan.
I wasn't quoting headline figures, I was quoting official statistics. And those statistics cover all forms of physical aggression. Obfuscate it as much as you want, but as the statistics show, in almost every category, males make up the majority of the victims. And the simple, hard, undisputable fact is that outside the home, females are far less likely to be assaulted than men.
I take your point that we should ignore those males who were asking for it, those not "innocent males suffering unprovoked harassment or harm". Presumably you think female victims should be treated and categorised likewise?
As for " factor in physical attractiveness, whether either party was under the influence of alcohol or non-pacifying substances, and so on." are you really saying that attacks on the pretty and sober are more serious than on those who are ugly or drunk?!!!
