I’ve just been asked to age verify on adultwork.  I have an adult content enabled phone number from Vodafone and all it took was replying to a text message.  All very straightforward and painless (so far).

This doesn’t work if you use My Sudo for a punting number as you can’t reply to the verification message because the number is 8990* and My Sudo is “Unable to reply to short code numbers”.

Glad to know it should be easy though.

That’s where I am too, with my thinking. I won’t repeat some of the reasons why punting feels harder these days as it’s covered on dozens of threads. But yesterday, punting felt quite laborious. My thoughts tonight (they may change tomorrow) - might be enough for me to consider retiring (don’t worry, not an announcement). And oddly, feel a touch excited by the idea and already wondering what I may spend the cash on. I’m sure that thought will change they first time I see a scantily clad girl in the gym. But punting has become a bit of a habit. So has porn. Big barriers in the way of that now

In the first few days, the "law" will be watered down and an anonymized 18+ service through a third party will be allowed. I doubt it will be enforced the way USA does with online gambling.

In the event AW seem to have realised their plans were impractical.
Instead of moving offending photos to the private gallery they've simply age-restricted them and enforced logging into your AW account.
So no need to pay.
Anyone with an existing AW account should be OK if logged in. Anyone without an account will have to sign up.

As for Vivastreet, no obvious changes so far

Just did my own AW test this morning .. once I logged in the age-verify thing disappeared and I could see photos again (blurred before login).

But the whole site is a trainwreck. Lots of photos either corrupted or only half-displaying, many girls showing plain clothes pics or head & shoulders only, others showing everything they have got to show with seemingly no content restricted. Banal ChatGPT text everywhere, and basically about 20% as horny as when it was in its heyday.

Time to batten down the hatches, stick to your regulars, wait for AW to rediscover its personality, and as Ian Malcolm said in Jurassic Park, "life will find a way"

Just tried using TOR and that makes no difference to AW if you try routing through different countries.
Looks like the restrictions are on the UK database, not on where you access from. In which case I suspect using a VPN won't evade the restrictions either

And again TOR doesn't bypass the system so VPNs probably won't

On mobile if you long press the profile picture of an sp you get to see the unpixlated version. Alternatively you can select "preview image" and it works. It's a ballache, but I don't think they thought about that? Would like to know if it also works on desktop?

I just used the Joti face age evaluation software on VS and it took just a few seconds to work - but it means you have to be logged in to VS. The recognition carries through between sessions

With AW they give you 3 options for age verification so at least you can choose, an option is to use the yoti method of age estimation so they just get an indicator from yoti via a selfie on the yoti site so your photo is not stored on the servers.

VS seem to use yoti and either the selfie estimate or using the yoti full identity version where you have to upload your id to yoti again VS dont get your details

Unfortunately all of these currently work by need of logging into an account I guess so they dont get a charge from yoti if you browsed

Just noticed sugar daddy meet require the yoti full identity version, seeking and secret benefits dont seem to change

For what its worth a few sites have already implemented the checks.... Brave browser (built in VPN).... took about a whole 5 seconds to bypass.

Porn hub blocked me this morning, as I tested it out, but gave me 3 or 4 different options to allow some companies I've never heard to of to access my bank details or my personal data. That doesn't scream 'online safety' to me.

Many SPs put a lot of thought and effort into their profiles, including adjustments to fit guidance criteria by AW.

I have tried to figure out a pattern, so far I cannot, but over the last few days I became convinced AW weren't able to moderate every profile before the deadline.

I’m finding it all quite frustrating. Had another go at AW verification this morning and text method still didn’t work.

As frustrating as it is, I am wondering whether on a personal level it might be good for me (not the intention of the bill of course). Day one, AW looks like a ball ache. May still use escorts but will prob just be ones I’m already aware of and well reviewed on here. But generally, if I log into AW and everything is pixelated, I suspect the horn will abate and good chance I won’t book anyone. For porn, I prob watch some as habit before bed and whack off. If there’s no sites to access - that may abate too. So the whole thing could inadvertently change my habits, maybe for the better.

Done the SMS verification and it's worked ok but I've seen at least one other site just put a message up that it's not worth the hassle and they've just blocked themselves from being accessed by the UK.

It's just struck me that looking at VS without doing all the Veri stuff the pictures are pixilated however I can still read the text and obtain the phone number.

So I can't see some scantily clad pics but i can still read a list of services and phone / text a girl to arrange paid for sex 

The other thing here relevant to VS is that the pics being pixilated is probably neither here nor there as 99% of them appear to be taken off of the internet or someone else's social media account anyway so overall it's no change for us punters

When I try to view the feedback on AW now it just takes me to the new version of the site with no option to see the reviews. I have checked my status and I am age verified for the site. Not sure if it is just a glitch.

I think you raise an interesting point re how long someone has had an account and still the need to verify as
If you have had an account for say 10 plus years you are hardly likely to have registered at 7 years old.
Who ever the official person they were talking to in the news this morning was mentioned that they regulate the sites and not the age verification companies which is a bit of a worry also raises the question as how a site can prove the age check if using an unregulated provider and that they will be checking sites vigorously in the coming weeks for not being compliant

Apart from the usual AW shambles. The key takeaway at the moment is that VPN's will not bypass the AW age verification as it appears they have opted to put this requirement as a blanket policy irrespective of country you are accessing from. Given that the majority of users are UK based this would make sense for them.

I do feel sorry for SP's like Strawberry who have gone to great lengths to comply with regard to photo galleries, only to find today that their profile photos are blurred when others are not. But then this is AW and should probably come as no surprise.

The good news is that currently phone numbers are showing without being logged in or verified.

Also I have checked a whole range of porn sites and VPN's are effective at bypassing the age verification OK which the majority of the 'big boys' have implemented today including Pornhub, X hamster etc.

Edit just checked UKP via a VPN (and not logged in) and this successfully bypasses the AI censorship. The latter also appears to be working well so well done Head1 et al

They can't assure that your account is being used by just one person nor that it hasn't been passed on since the last proof of age.  None of those compromises go away under new regime.  It's a BS system that won't prevent kids accessing adult content easily BUT it will fuck up the legitimate business and escapades of adults.

Same here. And although I don’t have a credit card, the debit card I use - I would have had to have been like 6 when I started buying credits, if I was still under 18 now.  I also have lots of feedback from verified escorts. Ok, I guess they could be fake - but common sense AW. And of course, trying to verify via the methods I am willing to do - doesn’t seem to work ! Fun and games.

It’s annoying as I get it. It’s law. But common sense shows I’m over 18. And if this was checked, I am over 18. No issue. But I guess Ofcom or whoever will take action against the lack of age verification, even if the person in question is over 18.
