Forget about doing cardio style, circuit training where you run extensively and sweat buckets. Yes you might lose weight quickly but you will lose muscle and your metabolism will become slower in the long-term. Likely to yo-yo diet and put weight back on. It's much more effective to build muscle and you will build a faster metabolism in the long-term.
You should try strength training:
2-3 times a week - Mon, Wed, Friday
45mins -1 hour sessions
Just focus on these main exercises 5 sets x 5 reps each with 2-3 mins rest in between sets. Key is take long rest periods (You don't want to be sweating it's not a cardio workout)
1)Barbell back squat
2)Deadlift
3)Bench press
4)Overhead press
5)Pull-ups
Daily walks getting around 5-10k steps a day, no heavy cardio. Goal is to build muscle (When you do too much cardio, it sends a signal to the body to lose muscle)
Don't waste your time using gym machines doing 3 sets of 10 reps etc. Also it's pivotal to up your protein intake (1gram of protein per bodyweight in Lbs). Would also recommend taking creatine daily. If you hit your protein intake daily along with the 2-3 days of strength per week over the course of 6-12 months. Your body will completely transform itself but you need to be very patient. It's very hard mentally because you won't see change in the first few months, you have to trust the process. But if you stick with it, your body will eventually become a fat-burning machine.
