they will be insured if they have any sense
Not sure how they can insure against a celebratory falling out of public favour?   :unknown:

All they can do in a situation like that is disassociate themselves with them and be seen to be doing what the majority of the public think is right.

So how do you insure your share price losses 🤷‍♂️

A company could short their shares
Knowing that bad news about to break & the share price about to nose dive
Tho the regulators could take a dim view on this
Insider trading of sorts
& brokers shorting the shares could come under scrutiny as visible in the market

Not that Brand has any sponsors, that i'm aware of

Men are under attack, they have been for years.  The feminist movement talk about ‘toxic masculinity’ and try to take down the likes of Andrew Tate and try to push men to be more feminine and support the feminist movement.

Imho there are two types of men who really believe that "men are under attack."

The ones with a very low self esteem/insecurities/fragile egos and the misogynists who can't stand the idea of women becoming assertive and demanding equal treatment. Some men are even those two types combined into one. I would class Tate as being the two in one.

share price losses are purely on paper and for a company with a turnover $282bn the change in share price for an incident like Brand will at best be trivial and short lived and not worth bothering about to a company like Alphabet

I was referring more to any costs involved that Youtube may have invested for future promotions or projects involving Brand which would/could be insured

in reality all that You tube has done is cut off Brand's ability to earn income from his posts, reckoned to be worth £1m a year to him. Youtube are still running his  videos and not stopped him posting so actually their earnings will increase

to think  a £1m loss of income is going to affect a company the size of Alphabet would be wrong.

My working (conspiracy?) theory is that the likes of Tate, Peterson, Trump et al. have monetised victimhood.

They offer compelling scapegoats for why your life is miserable - the woke, the trans, the gay, MSM, BBC, global warming, vaccines, women, the enlightenment, liberal elite, scientists, muslims, immigrants  ... and so on ...

They make you feel you're a victim without much compelling evidence. You feel like a victim, then get suckered deeper into their eco system. Before you know it, you're wearing a silly animal outfit and trying to overthrow a government :D

If a 16 year old comes marching in to your boss and says you had sex with them, are you happy to be fired and have all ability to earn money taken away?

What if some of the escorts you left negative reviews for, decide that any activities between you and them were non consensual, and they make an allegation against you? Are you happy for your income streams to be cut?

Your analogies are getting more ridiculous, boring, improbable, desperate and damn right laughable,

To please your little mind  :D, lets say I fuck a 16 year old, too young to drive, but she finds my address, gets someone to drive her and follow me to work. Maybe an SP who has visited my house, been a few, will give her my address.
Well, she could end up in Inverness, Wrexham, Portsmouth. Dover, or anywhere in between  :D, bur lets assume I go to the farm, no longer a farm, but yards, full of scaffolders, car dealers, truck drivers, probably most of them punt, I know some do, and maybe my business partner is there, a 50.s divorced, East Ender with two girls on the go, and some time punter, it would be entertainment for the few that are there  :D.

Just how many punters on here have been accused of rape for leaving a negative review, from a women who has accepted cash for sex?
I am sure one of the long term record keepers will have the answer .

Reality though, how many have had hassle from a negative review, and if they have it is replies on here or shitty text messages to a punting phone . Your analogy, even if I was employed, is thought up in desperation  If I was good at my job, and fucking a 16 year old is legal, if I have not paid her, Wtf could they do? When they stopped laughing

Now FYI, the last 16 year old I fucked, I married, and the result is now 40 years old . Yes I do punt with younger women, but here is a true tale for you.
I have a great SB thing going, it involves all sorts, including group sex, when I first met her, she had told me she was 23, I got the collywobbles  :D, I listened to her, she is very sexually mature, mature in other ways too, then I asked her for ID, she did not have it with her, so we arranged to meet again, she had lied, but I already knew that, as she came clean, she is 21.

Get a grip on reality, this twat has used power and money to abuse, probably, rarely smoke without fire, he should not be able to influence anyone else and get paid for it, it is a price you pay for fake fame, he was a nobody, made famous by shite TV, and those that watch it.

Goggle did not pull the plug, without pressure from those they make money from, we know they do not give a fuck about anything but money, it is the money that is cutting him off, and money talks.

His money is going to need to do a lot of talking  :D

Interesting example.  Hasn’t Spacey now been cleared of these allegations?

I am sure you know that he has been acquitted but the claim was still made

he was charged and that gave the company cause to pull the plug and use Plummer  they couldn't wait for ever he was questioned by police in 2019 not charged until 20022

Had the terms imposed by Insurers dictated that the company had to wait until the court case was settled there would still be  loss incurred even if not guilty. They suffered a loss so the claim was made

So Channel4 and The Times are now exposing Brand and let’s be clear they are making money from this story,  they are making money from these women’s accusations.  Wouldn’t it have been better to take all this evidence ( and there is a lot of it ) to the police first, allow the police to investigate and bring him in for questioning under caution before making a TV show and newspaper articles?

The same media organisations that celebrated him being ‘Shagger Of The Year’ and felt it was a title worthy of him are now the same people that are calling for him to brought down.

100% disagree with this.

IMO you're more describing the “left” which really promotes a victim mentality.  So called progressives want to treat people as victims because of the groups they belong to.

I don’t see this behaviour in any of the names you mentioned.

Peterson, in particular, is completely the opposite.  His material is largely about the importance of you taking control of your own life, stand up straight with your shoulders back, set your house in order before you criticise the world, etc.   I suspect you’ve not listened to or read any of it.

This is also true, to an extent, of Tate who I wouldn’t  put remotely in the same category as JP.  Tate's message is mostly a positive one around fitness and making a success of yourself, although I’m far less convinced of his prescription as I find the message quite selfish.

Much as I dislike Trump I really don’t see how you can describe him as “monetising victimhood”.

Couple of  months ago, there was speculation that he shifted hard to the right  to build goodwill amongst them ashe gotwind that something like this was happening. He can now claim the "public " want  to silence his voice with these accusations that frankly has been round since 1999 at least. Dude was a proper perv esp in uni scenes
I don't know about hard right. More like the same sort of conspiracy bandwagon as people like Roseanne Barr, David Icke etc and I'm not saying everything they say is wrong, but there never seems to be substantial evidence, but of course they say it's "covered up".

You are right, there's definitely some of the left that does it for minorities. It seems they want victims to remain victims so they can save them, or such. Some odd psychology at play.

You're talking about an earlier Peterson, who was actually quite good. I say good, but I was never really persuaded by his arguments. I thought he was really just a christian version of Deepak Chopra. In fact, if I pull out random quotes from either person it would be hard to guess who said it. (More recent Peterson quotes will be moaning about something, or some far right talking points.)

Then he got captured by his audience. I think this was around the time he started touring with the ultra grifter, Dave Rubin. Or perhaps after the time his Russian quack treatment for drug addiction left him with brain damage.

I think Tate is just the bad version of Peterson who has a bigger cock. I don't have the bandwidth or inclination to get deeper into Tate's "work".

If you allow "monetised" to be used as a Jungian/Petersonian archetype, perhaps you'll notice how Trump monetised victimhood.

I think Peterson seems the most informed, but I think the names mentioned largely appeal to a certain demographic of teenage and early 20 year old men. Trump being the exception as he isn't really pushing ideology the same in terms of two hour "talk" videos.

The solution to their problems is far simpler, stop watching these long videos and arguing with "pillers" and actually start talking to women.

As strange as it sounds I don't think we have a left and right anymore just different subgroups. Look who got kicked out of the lefty club for saying stuff about trans people? Or the righty club if they are seen as being too woke or a turncoat like Boris. It's all just sad fuckers with too much time on their hands. Most people don't give a shit about whose the most left or right if they work full time and have relationships. We had all this shit with music, who was keeping it real. It's juvenile.

Also forgot to add with Tate's wealth and fitness, fair play he did it off his own back. Although the real interesting question isn't whether he did a rape, but whether his casinos are legal; Romanian gambling is a lot less restricted than the UK or USA. To me it seems like posing for attention to teenage boys, pictures with supercars, attractive women etc - it's all just a cry for attention.

Where?

Anyhow as to the glories of the press, 53 years ago a product I was selling was described as unsafe and my business collapsed. I was able to discover that the tests on which their article was based had been rigged. When I spoke to an eminent lawyer for advice he asked how much money I had - and of course I had very little by then. He said, "Well these newspaper fellows have very deep pockets, you know."
