Pretty sure she can still appeal. She is a UK born and does not hold any other passports, under international law she cannot be stateless. She obviously made a grave error at 15. All I can say is wait and see and probably will cost the tax payer more money.
Correct however -
How do you lose your citizenship?
In the UK, someone can have their citizenship stripped by the home secretary, for the following reasons:
It is "for the public good" and would not make them stateless
The person obtained citizenship through fraud
Their actions could harm UK interests and they can claim citizenship elsewhere
Ms Begum was stripped of her citizenship for the public good reason.
The UK has responsibilities under international law to avoid people being left stateless. But in February 2020, a tribunal ruled that removing Ms Begum's citizenship was lawful because she was "a citizen of Bangladesh by descent"
Have to say I agree with Smiths post on this and don't think she should be allowed to set foot back in the country as once she's back on British soil we'll never get rid of her whatever the ruling is
Imagine she's allowed back -
UK tax payer stump up for her flight etc
Guess who then pays for her legal fees
Some smart lawyer then argues that she was only 15 and didn't know what she was doing, moreover she's actually a victim and it's somehow the fault of the UK Govt
Obviously she now deserves a few Million compo etc etc
Let her fester like a cockroach in some shitty camp as a direct result of the choices she made, reap what you sow
