Most of us old school SDs don’t view our SBs as anything other than beautiful women we genuinely enjoy spending quality time with.
And every SB I’ve had has been what you’d call a civvy”. Real careers, real lives and in some cases, their own side businesses. They weren’t women looking to sell sex. They were women who enjoyed being courted, looked after and spending time with a successful man within a mutually beneficial relationship.
So if you’re seeing less and less quality on Seeking, perhaps look at the culture you and the wider punting community have helped create.
When you turn a dating platform into a marketplace, reduce everything to PPM and start treating SBs as interchangeable sexual services, you inevitably drive away the women who were actually there for traditional SD/SB relationships.
So yes, you may well be seeing the demise of the quality you’re looking for.
But perhaps the punting community should take some responsibility for that.
Welcome to your own demise.
While i can't speak for everyone here who uses Seeking, i do not. i have not contributed to anything positive or negative. i will be the first to say that i do not have the correct mindset for it which is one of the reasons i follow this thread.
i view these Seeking style sites as transactional. money is changing hands in order to receive something from the other party. in the SD/SB situation you describe this is all within the wider dynamic of financial compensation, no? There are also many escorts who have "Real careers, real lives and in some cases, their own side businesses". Many who also state that they have no need to escort, but just do it from time to time at a low volume because they enjoy it. Does that qualify? What makes it mutually beneficial? They get money, you get sex. If you were not getting sex and just enjoying the company would that not then become one-sided rather than mutual? What is the end goal of a SD/SB relationship? i have no interest in funding a woman's lifestyle just to enjoy her company; i can do that with my female friends, some of whom are indeed very beautiful, at no financial cost.
There are some escorts who offer "experiences". Anastasia Swan is a good example. She has a rather high entry point, but she offers more than just sex and has plenty of, let's call them suitors, who spend long periods of time with her weekends, trips away, restaurants, special occasions etc. i would say that she suits your description: "They were women who enjoyed being courted, looked after and spending time with a successful man within a mutually beneficial relationship." literally to a T, and is the definition of a mutually beneficial relationship. i am pretty sure that she used to be a SB at some point for a number of years. i have met a few other escorts who have retired from being SBs.
i'm seeing more and more comments of "messaged this girl, straight to PPM, no messing about". Great, but why not just see an escort then? this has never really been answered. you have partially answered by saying this mentality has turned it from dating into a marketplace, but even if this had not happened and remained in the golden age that you describe, i still fail to see how it can be described as non-transactional.
perhaps, as you describe, the confusion i have with Seeking and sites of their ilk is because how the majority of posters seem to use them, and in times past, there was more of a distinction between them and sex work. while i can understand girls on seeking indignantly turning their noses up at escorts and thinking they are better, when all is said and done, they would not be seeing any of these guys in the first place without the money incentive, right? Why choose seeking over Tinder, Bumble, or Hinge?
in any case, thank you for responding to me. it has sparked some more interesting comments from others. now i have a better idea of how those such as you see Seeking, even if i still do not fully understand it. It would be great if some of the others who are on the find a girl and go straight to PPM, no messing side would describe why they prefer to do that on Seeking and pay a higher rate, when they could just book an escort?
