All the more important to remember the value of posting detailed reviews here and not omitting the negative ones, and how valuable it can be to highlight all those with suspect and dodgy locations.

An excellent idea IMO. Some opinions from more experienced punters are sought - in the light of this serious attack, do you think it would be worth creating a separate thread entitled something like "Dodgy/High Risk areas - punting no-go zones"? Everybody then posts specific areas, estates, even individual streets that from their past punting experience they would no longer go to - even if their punt was a positive review for the girl/fuck. A bit like the bareback avoidance thread in practice.

Use a minicab instead of uber if it's that much of a hassle, ive never had to use a punting phone or sim but then im single it must be different for guys that are married or in relationships.

The postcode given was SE1 3RP which points to Burwash House just off Weston Street.

After arriving and trying to confirm Burwash House was correct, there was a delay waiting for confirmation and I was then told it was 11-20 Mulvaney Way which is deeper into the Kipling Estate. Afterwards I was told it was no. 19 Mulvaney Way on the top floor.

The first image attached is from Weston St and you can see Burwash House. Sadly google maps does not have Mulvaney way image mapped out, but you can see it on the simple map I have attached to the left of the red marker which is Burwash House.

Bing map has it's street view that goes down Mulvaney Way. These poorly designed developments are perfect for an ambush, looks dangerous in the day let alone at night. I wouldn't be surprised if you weren't the first punter to get robbed, hopefully you'll be the last.

Well he already has so I don't think that's relevant anymore. They may however ask him how willing he would be to keep co-operating and testify in court because indeed a conviction may rely upon his evidence and testimony. If they can't secure his continued co-operation then they probably wouldn't pursue a prosecution for that particularly robbery but I'm sure they'd still investigate to see if they can pin them for something else, they'd also certainly look into that gun and try to get it off the streets.

I don't know how possible it would be to hide it from a wife (if he has one) but I imagine it might be possible, just very difficult. I personally wouldn't bother reporting a normal robbery/mugging, unless there was serious violence involved and I was badly hurt (I couldn't give a fuck if I just hurt them) or serious weapons (such as the ones described in the OP). To be fair though, I don't have any significant other to hide it from - I just couldn't be arsed with helping the prosecution and testifying for anything other than serious stuff.

Yes, good advice. I do like to take extra cash though in case I want to (and can) extend (or if there's an extra I might want) but generally it's not advisable and certainly not wise to bring cards or anything else that could I identify you. And if you drive there, as you say, it's also important to at least park out of potential eye shot and even make sure you're not followed!

Strangely on reading this, I am reminded of a punt many moons ago on a council estate and when I came out there were lots of young me in the corridors etc.

Not possible - the 'texts' directed DG to an empty property. It was a set up - this was confirmed by the police. Why are people making excuses for the 'sket in pic' without reading the thread details properly?

That means NO girl was there.

Possible she is involved or someone stole her pic and made a fake profile to pull the scam.
I have no idea which but it was a set up from the get go.

I leave my main phone at home most of the time. Or I leave it in the car- never have I taken it on a punt.

I'm very much single, so that's a non-issue. I'm more concerned with my family and friends finding out. It's important that these guys don't continue with this kind of behaviour and harm/rob others, so involving the police is essential.

This thread has been very informative on what to do/bring to punts.. i've been guilty of bringing my whole life in a wallet to every punt.. I think i'll definitely be a lot more mindful now of what to take, if anything.

Full props to you for taking the stand mate.  I'm in same sitch as you so likewise only concern is involving RL important peeps.  I think I could keep them separate but not that willing to need to.  Not sure if I'd brick it if called in to id the buggers in a line-up.
