You make good points, but what I was really talking about was the change in flat rental over the last 10 years whilst the WG's rate has stayed at 50/100. Eventually something has to give and maybe we have reached that time. I haven't seen any brand new BMW's parked outside WG's flats ??

Just had a quick look and I don;t know the figures for before. But now, Heaton was cheap at £ 70, but then it's going up to £ 95, for the better quality flats / location. So I'm not sure your right Anth. I do know of flats where the rent has definately gone up.

In all honesty this price thing is getting right on my wick.

If we charge below the regions standard of 50/100 then it must be because somethings wrong with us/we're shit at our job

If we charge more than the regions standard, so maybe 60/120, we're greedy

If we reduce our rates to regions standard we have dusty phones

If we work solely indie we miss out on a large portion of clients who only use agencies (that one isn't an opinion)

If we join an agency, we again have dusty phones.

Frankly we can charge whatever we want and if clients don't want to pay it they won't, if they do then they will.

This topic is going on in two forums simultaneously. Its confusing, I want to keep the discussion here for the simple reason as people wont start kicking off on here if you say something they don't like.

But the answer to all of the above seems pretty straight forward. And that is; keep your rates at the going rate; £50/£100 and don't ever change them. Simples.

I thought that stood right out from your post that this was the logical thing to do and avoids any and all drama.

And just to say if I was a working girl I would be on two agencies books at the same time, and also on AW. And for all three charging £50/£100. No drama, highest avenue for advertisement and everything perfect.

I have a monthly budget which I try to keep too, not easy and I do go above it sometimes. She told me repeatedly she was 26, and that her 27th birthday was on the first week of February.

I spoke to her on the telephone in the last week of January this year after she had retired and she even said to me in a sort of heated moment "I am 27 in two weeks time" as she was saying she is old enough to take care of herself. I even joked with her, saying this is great, as at 27 its scientifically shown that this is when girls suddenly start finding geeky guys attractive as their "settling down mantra" kicks into them psychologically and they just innately start going for geeky guys and finding them attractive and they start wanting to have kids and settle-down and thus as soon as her birthday comes she will see me and go "Jesus Christ, why didn't I notice this before, but that Anth is fit". And she even joked back, I cannot wait till February then when I turn 27 to see if that actually happens or not then.

When she was with Diamonds in 2012 she told me that she didn't like how all these other girl fake their ages and she said she had specifically put her real age down with them as she didn't see any reason not to. And she was 23 on Diamonds site and she said this was her real age then too.

Then three years later she came back and put her age down as 26 on AW and then on Allure too.

This would be the biggest ruse ever if she really was 30 that she seems to have carried on to extreme levels. I would be very much let down if she really was 30 given all the above.

Think AnthG must have got too tied up with the age of one single escort to have realised that he wasn't alone in his protest of the increasing rates being charged. I'm sure I nailed my flag to the mast of the protesters and Celica GT was certainly disappointed as he said, and as is the case with many of us guys, we will have a budget and increased prices either mean increasing that budget or over the course of a month reducing the number of meets. But we are all different, and that includes the way we approach punting, the ability to fund the hobby and the extent of that budget as well as our choice of ladies.

I am not sure about 1985 as I was too young. But for 1988 onwards the RRP for VHS tapes was all £9.99.

I bought my first VHS tape in 1988 and it was The Living Daylights for my 8th birthday it had just been released on VHS for it. I then a couple of days later also bought Flight of the Navigator and Short Circuit for my birthday and my father bought Project X and the first Crocodile Dundee for him. All £9.99 each

I then about a year or so later started buying film magazines and all the films were £9.99 RRP in there.

If you were talking about Rental tapes. They were extortionate to buy the big box rental tapes as they went for the region of £50 to £100 each for the film which is crazy thinking back now (the way things worked back then for anyone too young to remember, is films were released on big box rental VHS first for around a year. And then after a full year of release on rental. It was then released again for sale on small box VHS and you could buy the film for £9.99 RRP. (This was until CIC released Crocodile Dundee II for £14.99). And then after the end of that second year it could be shown on Terrestrial TV. So first year rental. Second year Retail. Third year can be shown on TV.

This was the case all the way until Who Framed Roger Rabit where Disney released it for sale the same day as it came out for rental. And as a result I know many of the larger rental chains (Ritz video for one) refused to stock it for rental saying that Disney are intending to put them out of business.

But it really only occurred with that and one or two other Disney films where retail came out the same day as rental. It was only until DVD's were released that films became for sale the same day as release for rental.

But I promise this is my last post in this topic and issue. And given the extremity of what was said by BBB I just feel a need to reply one last time to this issue because this issue and how it seems to be able to get twisted is unbelievable

Back at Christmas there was one working girl who I genuinely thought I was real life friends with. And I genuinely thought it. And I genuinely actually wanted to be friends with her too. Now, I thought this person as a result of this was either completely insane. Or a really good friend of mine. And so on my getting worried on her vanishing like that. The response to this, for a period of two full months I had had none stop PMs from both punters and especially fellow Working girls, all giving me their advice on this and all universally saying the exact same thing, everyone of them "she was just a prostitute doing her job. She never liked you it and it was her job to try to pretend. You shouldn't have ever thought more than that as she was just using you for an income. For doing the evil thing of "treating punting as if its a business transaction and nothing more".  All I can say is a massive "what the". As I really cannot win.
