I registered on July 25th and am dipping in and out and finding my way around. I did comment on two recent punts in appropriate posts before I realised how seriously some people here crave actual reviews and I hereby pledge to write a review of my next punt, if it is neutral or negative. Does this forum have a view though as to whether it is important to ask the WG’s assent before posting a positive review? I don’t want to upset people unnecessarily.
Presumably one review every 60 days or so as you have averaged since 2016 is acceptable and the ratio of reviews to posts is unimportant so long as I keep the reviews coming along? Just asking.
It’s up to you whether you review or not, but if you are punting, asking advice, and not making useful contributions the members on here will not be slow in pulling you up for it.
As for asking the prossies permission to review, then the general consensus is this diminishes the credibility of a review to the point that it’s pretty much worthless. As has been pointed out to you already, this is a site for punters, and reviews are written to help inform other punters. Any benefit to the prossie of a positive review should be secondary to this.
Experience also shows that even a positive review, that you may feel portrays the WG in the most favourable terms, can actually piss them off in ways you wouldn’t have imagined. Giving them any kind of editorial input is against the ethos of this site. You chose to join, so the onus is upon you to comply, and if you find that too difficult, go elsewhere. But consider that other failed forums have allowed prossie mods. This one thrives and grows.
There’s no acceptable ratio of reviews to posts, just make a contribution and review when you can.
Finally, read the wiki, and don’t waste Admins time with frivolous reports.
