Pattaya - Russian scammers

Hi . I had a couple of near miss from scammers , both Russian in Pattaya last week . I don’t think this is Pattaya specific so may be helpful for others . First scam , matching on tinder and the girl suggested meet at a particular restaurant on walking street with shisha , luckily I checked the reviews and there were report of exorbitant bill at end of the evening. So always choose your place for the date if meeting on tinder . Second scam , 2 Russian girls offered to meet for 4000 Bhats asking for room no of the hotel , I met them on reception and they had to leave their passport on reception. In the room they wanted the payment first . I refused and they left with taxi money . This was clearly a scam as all the WhatsApp messages were deleted in seconds . Also , be aware of the lady boys , they are very aggressive. I had a lovely time with a Thai lady and think 🤔 they are genuinely amazing 🤩

Care to expand on what was the situations where you experienced very aggressive ladyboys?

I have literally had hundreds of interactions with Thai ladyboys in Pattaya and not once had one which is aggressive.
They are just like every other Thai (male, female or trans), treat them with respect, that things are fun and easy and you will be fine. Publicly embarrass them (make them 'lose face') or introduce aggression and you quickly find out about it.

I’ve never had a problem with LBs just smile and treat them with respect and you want have a problem, pretty much like everything in Pattaya.

Not obvious why this is a scam - did you sense a flight risk? Or threat to person?
 
The fact that they registered their passport at the reception makes them more credible actually.

The ladyboy attacked a Thai girl with me without any provocation. I was not sure if he was a boy or girl and the girl with me confirmed that he was a ladyboy so they got upset . As far as the Russians , they were scammers for sure . If anyone wants go to tinder and look for a profile by the name Marina 34

There's a reason clubs ban ladyboys and those that do allow them soon ban them. Many are extremely aggressive and trouble. There's a ladyboy bar on Soi 6 now, a third of the way up on the right hand side coming from the beach and if you reject their advances they try and pull your shorts and boxers down in the middle of the Soi.

Ladyboys seem to be taking over the Boukhao area. There are more ladyboys than girls on Pothole. Not a good thing for most and throw in all the old bats in that area and it's a sorry state.

The main Russian tinder scambar is off WS with a swimming pool. It's cleverly done, meet at the pier and walk down WS and she insists she knows the best place.

Got scammed in one of the russian clubs on walking st, was blinded by this Russian beauty who got me in promising the world - once in, beers 3x more, but upside was at the front for the next show, downside a very athletic russian man, but kudos to him he gave it his all.

However, total opposite to the above I did meet a russian in myst, who i did pay 8000 LT but worth every penny

Why bother with Russians in Pattaya when there are so many beautiful Thais around?

We live in Europe, arranging a punt with a reputable Russian isn't difficult for us at all, and a damn sight cheaper here than in Pattaya to boot.

Ended up spending 3 days with an off work gogo girl from windmill 2 for 3000 baht per day lol 😜 you are right will not bother with the Caucasian any more

Always pay your bar bill, not like this Aussie lad, who ran up a £700+ bill at a Soi Bhukao beer bar!
