Author Topic: Low motivation to punt. Is that a sign to quit?  (Read 1819 times)

Offline Metalgear2018

For the past couple of years I have had a few punts but I mostly find myself scrolling through AW and viva and being very fussy. If I do select a SP I will read the profile and if I don’t like the way it’s been put together I would avoid. Prior to that I used to take risks with Roms and don’t care about the service.

I’m in good health, positive mindset, good financially. But other than that I have lost the urge to pursue a SP.

It could be, if you are in a relationship. If you are single it might be that you should either be looking for higher quality punts, or trying the likes of seeking where it's kind of a halfway house between punting and a relationship.
Personally I mostly stay away from non english speakers, I just find it a bit awkward to ask for what I want when you are not sure they understand.

As per the title. Only you know if you want to quit punting or not. There are no hard and fast rules here.

I punt when I fancy doing so. If I don’t fancy doing so…….. I don’t.

I’ve been a petrol head all my life. Thrown money at some nice motors…….. a few heaps too. Just loved to drive.
Nowadays not so much. I put it down to just me getting on a bit. Is it time for me to quit.  :D

Maybe.

Personally speaking I wouldn’t overthink things. If you’re not fancying it then so what. You never know, you might just wake up one morning and say to yourself. “Jeez I fancy a shag” 🤷🏼

As the Right Honourable Steve says, if you fancy a punt, punt, if you don't fancy a punt, don't.

I've got another expensive, time consuming hobby besides punting that I've been doing for almost 40 years. These days though, I'm not really feeling it. The only reason I continue is because it provides a plausible and convenient  excuse to punt. If (when?)  I get bored with punting, I'll most probably jack it all in too.

Offline DastardlyDick

It sounds like you're punting because you've been doing it so long it's become a routine, rather than  a pleasure.
As Steve says wait until you're feeling so horny nothing else will do, then punt.

If you’re in good health and finances aren’t an issue, it may just be that your priorities or tastes have shifted. You could explore arrangements that offer more connection, like seeking, if that appeals to you. If nothing feels worth pursuing, it might be a sign to take a break rather than force it.

Do you also have low motivation to shag the wife / girlfriend?
Do you have erection problems?
How old are you?
A chat with your GP may not got amiss. It's not impossible you've got the beginnings of medical problems e.g. diabetes, thyroid, testosterone.........
Of course it could be you're just bored with women

Just checked, most of your reviews are from East Anglia. I'd argue that explains it. As a fellow easterner, we seem to have to pay london prices to get generic services from only somewhat attractive providers. Most of the good ones have left.

I find myself in the same situation. Im at home and I just scroll, with nothing taking my fancy. Whenever I'm in a decent area however it's a completely different ballgame. Thankfully I get to travel once or twice a year for work, which usually gives me a few days to sample the local offerings.

I'd recommend finding a hobby which has you travelling a bit. Getting into a premiership rugby team is a decent option as we don't have anything reasonably local. Miniature wargaming is a decent excuse to travel about a lot to the tournaments, and can be quite solitary too (if you need to make an excuse at home that is).

I'd never travel exclusively for a punt, but in the east anglian area unfortunately after a year or two there isn't enough turnaround so you need to start looking further afield, which makes punting on a whim less likely and you actually have to plan a decent time ahead. By the time you get to the punt you might not be feeling it and instead of cancelling you go, and the magic starts to fade.

I'd second this with the caveat you don't choose to support sarries.

I punt significantly less than I used to. Several reasons which don't matter much for this thread. However, after a while without a punt I do find that SPs I would have rejected 2-3 weeks ago seem to become more attractive and I sort one out. So instead of more than 1 a week, I get driven to do 1 a month(ish)

Sounds like it could be low testosterone, worth getting it checked.
