Off the back of Sdotkid121s post about the current state of things
I was curious what others here think about where its all heading

With OF and camming becoming the default route for a lot of younger aspiring sex workers now
especially the more standout ones
I do wonder how its going to shape punting long term

The financial incentive is clearly pushing more towards online work
no travel, no in person meets, no risk, just a ring light and some simps

Some of the really hot girls now entering escorting seem to be building an online presence alongside it
And then they charge higher prices once they get a few subs

This will naturally only become more prevalent

That said
One of the few consistent upsides since maybe 2017 has been the steady flow of hot Brazilians
A lot of them are genuinely good looking
often reasonably priced too
If you dont go for extras
maybe they're just not as tapped into the online game yet. But they never stay long

Otherwise alot of the time rates keep climbing snd service does not always keep pace

Then theres the tech angle
 AI chatbot companions already exist,
They offer customised GFEstyle interaction with feedback loops
and the sex robot industry is getting weirder by the year
There's even ai brothels with silicone dolls
Now add semi organic parts via lab grown tissues
it sounds mad now but fast forward a decade or two

To shift some focus to the customer base
Its worth noting how the wider cultures shifted
Most younger millennials and Gen Z grew up on high speed porn
Male virginity is on the rise in the West and a big part of that is guys feeling content having their sexual needs met through screens
Which has killed the drive for real sex for many
Covid only made it worse
pushing more isolation and less realworld interaction

Change is inevitable with time
Im just curious how you think the passage of time will shape our beloved hobby and punting culture in general in the years to come

I can well believe sex dolls will become somewhat of a norm in the future. Tech advances being what they are it surely won’t be long before we have lifelike robots/androids put to all kinds of uses.

I’m just old now so my viewing of porn has diminished somewhat and I’ve always found just shagging type viewing to be simply boring. So the idea of me wearing something over my eyes and having virtual sex just does not appeal at all.

Offline puntingking

There is a market for all types of sex work. Be it in the form of camming, sex toys, porn and/or wgs.

Relax, sex work is the oldest profession and while some years it will be more/less prevalence than other years. It will still be here but in more forms.  :hi:

Everytime I open AW my eyes light up at some hottie, only to be left sad that she’s Direct Cam Only.

I agree with everything you said but some girls actually like sex and some value the more discreet nature of escorting over having to promote your OF online for all to see (even if face is hidden).

I feel like all lanes will thrive tbh and can’t wait for my first FRM Threesome (Female, Robot, Male)   :D

Interesting thread
I agree with the user that mentioned there will be multiple avenues. Sex was here at the beginning of mankind and isn’t going anywhere

The future of punting is less discretion/privacy
- Social media
-Digital currency
-Online safety act
-CCTV with facial recognition
-deposits

Let me correct it for you  :hi:

The future of punting is less discretion/privacy
- Social media (It has been around for a long time now)
-Digital currency (there will still be a place for physical cash for at least the next 10 years)
-Online safety act (it is right to protect children and the vulnerable)
-CCTV with facial recognition (sex work is legal so it doesn't matter if CCTV gets a picture of you)
-deposits (don't see those sps, there will be plenty of sps who will never take deposits)

If there was less privacy/ Discretion then most punters would not punt.  :unknown:
Don't be too doom and gloom, The future won't look that bad as you originally painted it to be.
Sex work will always be here, The freedoms to protect peoples right to live in liberty and to decide for themselves what they will like to do will hopefully still be intact in some form or another in law
:unknown:

These worries could be a cause for concern for future generations but change is slow  :hi:

I think at the moment many are choosing cam work over escorting.
But things have a a habit of coming full circle so I haven't lost hope.
Cam work leaves a permanent internet presence of whatever you've been doing. It's almost impossible to completely remove. Escorting can be more discrete. I've punted girls who have done both and it was privacy (and it being more fun and being more lucrative) that pushed them to concentrate on escorting.
The second aspect is that I think AI is going to eat the cam girls lunch. There will always be a few big earners, AI girls will take a huge chunk. So guys into wanking over pixels instead of fucking will be able to have photos and videos depicting their vision of perfection doing whatever they want.

Totally agree with everything here. The real world will always survive even if the digital becomes big / the norm.

There’s such a large portion of men who are willing to pay sometimes hundreds of pounds for photos / videos and even replies to messages … almost like some men feel they have to pay for validation

I met a girl a while ago earning 6k a month just doing OF… who is paying these girls ? I’ve never used OF and don’t intend ever to use it… turning guys into simps begging for attention and validation

i don't think you need to disrespect others because they are doing something you don't want to do. Each to their own and all that - you don't know their circumstances at all.

no, i am not one of them but if you are right in that .... "There’s such a large portion of men who are willing to pay sometimes hundreds of pounds for photos / videos and even replies to messages" .....then its you and me that are in the minority and the "odd ones out"!!

I agree with the AI angle
More and more of the IG models recommended to me by the algorithm are clearly 'AI influencers'
Photorealism and motion is improving fast soon I will not be able to even tell unless they mention it on their profile

Yes once we reach the point where users can fully customize girls
It might genuinely be game over for cam girls

As you said it might go full circle
but even then at some point
I can see a future where ai bots with semi organic parts replace real escort women entirely
These bots will have no minds boundaries or resistance
That will appeal to a large market segment that just wants compliance and stimulation

What’s with the sarcasm ? There’s literally no need it’s a current topic being published in multiple countries directly linking only fans to a change in how we perceive sex im not publishing links to justify this it was just a passing comment

I suppose after 11 years of punting I may not have the longevity of some on here but long enough to get a perspective.

Couple of observations:

The idea that some guys put 100’s or even 1000’s of pounds into online purchases of videos or photos. If it’s what floats your boat it may well be money well spent. I remember before punting that I would have done the same probably, but I discovered the punting path instead.

Some guys may be too nervous, so online is a “lesser evil” in their minds. Maybe they worry about STI’s or just not good with women’s bodies. Who knows  :unknown:

Online provides an outlet for frustration when you consider the celibate alternative.

Also with regards to the punting world has changed. Maybe it has but personally I don’t see it. I look at my last 10 punts, a mix of pos, neg and neutral and I compare to 2014 and I don’t see a hell of a lot of difference

For what it’s worth, I’m glad for the online camping world. If anything it takes a little bit of the focus OFF what we do.

I like that

The challenge is wholly valid.  If you're basing your "assessment" on "feels" and sources who have no or (highly) questionable attachment to proper statistical analysis for whatever reason then your generalisation "large portion" is similarly lacking in merit.
What is this "perception of sex" you talk about?  If you can't qualify it you can't quantify it.

Have to agree with you on this. It is debated all over YouTube with academics citing statistics of young people having less sex than recent generations. It seems men are getting less than women too which leads some to the conclusion that the most attractive men are being shared by women.

As for where things are going, I see ai as filling a gap at some point for lonely people. I don't know how that will affect punting but I am more curious as to whether ai models will take over from Only Fans and other porn.

Or as someone wise put it, if you can't measure it, you can't manage it. And I reserve my right to critique unjustifiable conclusions. If we all agreed with each other what a boring forum this would be.

All over YouTube as curated for you perhaps.  How many different commentators and academics do you follow that discuss this from positions of established authority?  Citing stats is great, did you look at those stats, look into the methodology, the sample size, the questionnaire or other means of data gathering used?

Anyone walked up to you in the street with a clipboard and said "Excuse me sir, do you have a minute to answer questions about your sex life, porn, social inadequacy, monogamy, misogyny and the use of prostitutes?"

Maybe you've done as I have in the past and registered with market research companies and academics looking into sexual health?  Making it a little more likely, albeit unintentional, that someone researching this might chance upon you.

I've read this too, but the research seems to link having more/less sex with having more or less money and thereby opportunity. It seems many younger people have poorer paying jobs and consequently live at home with parents, which means less money and opportunity to socialise. The same argument is made for younger people drinking less - they've simply got less money.

All interesting and many points are true, but not inconsistent with what I have seen online from academics. I believe the most resentful men studied (incels) were found by one academic to be living in de-industrialised "Rust belt" areas of the US. However, when it comes to the effect of online dating it still seems men were worse off as a result of the technology. Also, people are apparently socialising less which seems to be an effect of the online world. Poverty can't account for everything.

Females don't make it easy on men - Men are expected to pay for dates, provide for them and yet females are not expected to stay home to cook and clean  :unknown:

You could argue that traditional gender roles made society better - Both genders knew their place in the world.
Now, we have tons of British females expect to be given the world by their man and yet they generally offer nothing in return.
If you ask a female "what you bring to the table", They will be so entitled to say "me, baby. I am enough".

I am not saying, all women are like this. But I am making a point that nobody knows what the fuck to do in the dating scene.  :unknown:

Now, if you ask lots of females if they would rather have a kid on their own or with a man. I bet a large proportion of them, will say on their own. Which through tech a single person can have their own kid without having a partner by methods such as surrogacy and IVF.

This leads to men feeling worthless and like they are not needed by society which causes mental health conditions, high rate in suicide and escapism which leads to gaming and gambling addiction.

I could be talking nonsense, but these are my thoughts.  :unknown:

Who knows how much of anyone's subjective experience reflects the bigger picture? In any case it can't be good for society or the economy to have men who feel like they have nothing to aim for. I don't view the media or politicians as ethical so I don't think they will care much. I think the "Loneliness Tsar" won't do much either.  :(

Good documentaries about this as well. Depending on who I listen to it is economic reasons or down to a rise in individualism and changes in dating. It could be both. I might rewatch these programmes as it does interest me. Similar things are happening in South Korea and China. One Chinese vlogger said if some of the worst predictions regarding chinese birth rates come true then China could see the largest drop in population ever recorded in human history.

Japanese people are very nice and are cultured in my view.

One of the many factors would be that in Japan they work long hours (even longer than the UK, who would have thought  :unknown:) and the result being they are too tired to pretty much do anything else.  :unknown:

Some in Japan are substituting real world relationships with virtual ones
There is a BBC article ‘Why I married a cartoon character’ from 2019 it touches on this
What you said is one driving factor according to the article
Social inadequacy also plays a role

'about 12% of young people reported sometimes or often falling in love with an anime or video game character.'

Watched a documentary where women work in bars dressed up as men & lonely housewives go to have interaction with them. They cited reasons like if you don’t get a good job by mid twenties after uni then no women will marry you & no company will take you on by 28/30, also men working stupid hours and getting addicted to digital sex so not having sex or spending time with wives. Really interesting but never been able to find it again

One thing to consider in the future is the legal landscape. While there are no plans to introduce the Nordic Model in England and Wales, and the current attempt in Scotland looks likely to fail, it could one day get a critical mass of support among  :manhater: types in Parliament and their friends in the media, so we must always be vigilant.

The biggest markets for the sex trade tends to be the places where it is already illegal.
USA, CHINA and INDIA are frequently known for having the highest numbers of sex workers.
Also, Sweden has one of the highest rape crimes figures in Europe and that is a country where sex work is banned (Nordic model).
Surely, this is a good argument to legalise sex work in that country.  :unknown:

Strangely enough, Spain and Germany beats the Netherlands when it comes to sex workers numbers. Both Spain and Germany have similar laws regarding sex work to the Netherlands.

Don’t USA, China & India have the highest numbers because they have so many people? Or our you saying per capita? Same with Germany 83m, Spain 48m compared to Netherlands 18m.

Would love to know if your figures were based on population.

Offline Ivor Hunch

the swedish analysis is a very good example of needing to be careful with stats.

the european comparison is generally based on the number of recorded reported rapes.

but, there is no uniformity as to definition of rape, nor recording protocols.

the swedish definition of rape is particularly wide, encompassing many sexual offences that would not be "rape" in other countries, and also there are recording practices that may increase the reported number-  thus, where a woman reports that she has been raped repeatedly over a period by the same person, each instance will be recorded as a separate rape, whereas in other countries it may be recorded only once.

further, it is thought that a much higher proportion of rapes are likely to be reported, because there is much less stigma/ shame applied to the victim than in other countries, and there is also a high level of trust/ confidence in the police/ criminal justice system

i agree - but here, we are talking in a like minded community almost like "preaching to the converted". However there are other groups that are never going to agree with us as they firmly believe that given a free choice (free from money issues etc not just being coerced), no woman would ever willing do it - so it is us bad men taking advantage of them (even though we might do it nicely).

A bit of advice to those YouTube watchers... if you're watching videos about men vs women, feminism, onlyfans, incels, etc. be careful not to mistake content creation and click bait for truth. There are "academics" and there are "academics". Content creators often design material that provokes strong reactions as it keeps their channel growing. The line between opinion and fact can get blurry, and clickbait thrives in that grey area. Also the algorithms will make sure the more you fall for the clickbait the more you will see similar content.

Whilst there are a few very good and creditable channels YouTube is probably 99% full of crap. I see YouTube as nothing more than glorified social media; any Tom, Dick and Harry can create content.

Just because someone claims to be an expert doesn't mean they are. Also unlike real academic content, most YouTube videos don't go through rigorous fact-checking or peer review before publication.

Think critically about what's being said, and ask yourself who's benefiting from the "facts" presented.
