Yeah, most of them are only interested in their 5 minutes of fame. As potential business  partners they are mostly clueless. I read somewhere most of the winners have not had any success with their businesses and have folded after a couple of years.

After watching the first episode last night you can see at this early stage which candidates are going to be extremely annoying.  Female candidate Nadia Suliaman  *the hairdresser and Carlo Brancati * the hair transplant  "expert" (* I notice a theme here ) they are either in the running to be the next voted out or to be murdered by the rest of the team members for being back stabbing gobshites .  (or rather bigger back stabbing  gobshites than the others) I think Mr. Rock, Paper, Scissors is on borrowed time too.

Yes as soon as he suggested that I just cringed as it was surely obvious to everyone (apart from him) how badly that would be received, I recall someone once did a coin flip to make a decision and got panned for it

I didn't take to Nadia Suliaman who was an annoying gobshite IMO especially jumping in to close someone else's sales deal so that she could then claim that she made the sale 
She was wearing a bright green trouser suit at one point and looked like Miss Piggy dressed as Kermit

Nobody stands out but it normally takes me a few weeks to start getting a proper feel for the candidates, the one who I thought seemed a decent guy to get on with is the air conditioning salesman but he didn't sell any tickets, perhaps he blows hot and cold 

I think the only time I got an immediate feeling of who the winner would be was about 10 years ago when a woman called Stella was project manager 1st week and won, she was head and shoulders above everyone for the 1st few weeks and really stood out.
She did win it and at the time it was a job rather than a business venture but things went tits up after a couple of years and I recall she left and sued Sugar

To be honest, the last 10 series candidates haven't impressed me with their apparent competence about anything, never mind running a business - I can't remember the name, but one thought that London Bridge was just any old bridge in London!

Carlos went last week, seemed like the group just didn't like him much and there was something I didn't like about him too, sometimes you just get a feeling about someone

He was awful, so full of himself, very stubborn in a stupid way and can't handle feedback. Deserved to be fired

I sometimes wonder what sort of privileged backgrounds some of the candidates come from.  How can they not see in some of the tasks how deluded they are.

For example - going to Innsbruck and trying to sell a day excursion to tourists.

One of the team leaders was insisting €200 was a bargain for the trip despite being told by her team mates that the price she was suggesting was too high.  The result - they sold no tickets at that price and had to reduce the fee to entice customers.

This then leads the team leader to have a mini meltdown that they didn't follow her strategy.

But the thing that confuses me most is have they not watched the show before and seen the previous years teams make the same mistakes?

Though to be fair the show does not set them up to win.  No company decides on the price of a product and then goes to negotiate the prices of the constituent parts with the suppliers once that price has been decided.

Making the contestants look stupid is probably better TV than giving them a chance to succeed.

I felt Alan Sugar was generous. Over the years I've seen better outcomes. Sugar once fired a candidate before they can pick 2 people you bring back. Obviously he coudnt triple fire as one person was to blame.

Yeah good points about not even making it back into the boardroom to get sacked 

The thing is she even made a bad decision about who to bring back to the boardroom, surely her only chance would have been to bring back whoever else fucked up the numbers and then argue it was always going to be an uphill struggle once XYZ had thrown her a curve ball
