Just a bit blowy up here the Cambridge and shire!.
Anyone remember 1987 now that was a Blow Job!...
OK i'll 'eer get my Mac....
I do remember 87 and I was living down south back then, the south coast copped the worst of it as it tracked all the way along whereas the tendency is for it to go more over the land which takes a bit of the sting out.
Also areas that normally get hit the worst are a bit more used to it so a % of trees come down most years whereas if an area that doesn't get it that bad normally get hit really hard then lots of trees come down.
Didn't 7 oaks become 1 oak

I remember everyone laughing about it and taking the piss

It is windy up here but I think the SW and Wales have been affected more, in all honesty here today yes it's noticeably windy but I wouldn't say exceptional.
I do remember around 2005 or 2006 my house got absolutely battered by the wind literally all night to the [point I couldn't get any sleep so ended up bringing a duvet and pillow downstairs and sleeping on the sofa at the back of the house (as in the back room not outside in the garden

)
I'd say that storm here was on a par with 87 but it barely got a mention

Anyway they did say with the weather being so bad not to travel unless essential and that we should look out and help our neighbours so I knocked on next door, she's 86 and I asked if she was planning on going to the supermarket for essentials.
She was so I gave her my list of stuff to buy at the same time, no point both going

Didn't bother with the 90 year old on the other side as I figure she's just lazy, she hasn't even bothered taking her milk in for over a week
