A poll of parent opinion at the primary school would be very different and likely overwhelming.

But opinions should not trump someone’s rights. She hasn’t broken the law. I would imagine it was fairly common in the 1960s for parents to have an issue with a teacher being black. Let’s say the teacher had a second job as a divorce lawyer (unlikely I know) and did well out of ruined lives, would it be right for parents to say they don’t want her teaching because she does something questionably moral in that role?

Bottom line, just because people don’t like it doesn’t mean her rights should get removed.

There are several scenarios, wife found hubby has seen her, she refused service etc etc.
If she was on AW, they demanded face pics until fairly recently, so the grass could have seen it there.
I can see why a parent would object to a hooker teaching their kids, especially if she was offering some of the more niche services.

even taking everything you said into consideration,l don't think the girl in question should have her life potentially ruined for what she does in her private life.The fact she turns tricks shouldn't impact on her ability to teach.l had a regular pre covid who had a friend who was a teacher and a very part time escort.She didn't advertise and relied on her friend drumming up a bit of work for her.Her paranoia was understandable given what could happen.

as the Doc says, you agree certain terms and conditions when you accept the offer of a job. Because you think it OK to be a teacher and an escort, doesn't matter. Its what she agreed to in accepting the job. Whilst on here (UKP) many of us might think "so what? she can do both jobs, no harm done!" - most other teachers and most parents etc would not agree with us!

In the commercial world, bring the organisation/company into "disrepute" (ie doing something even in your own time which the organisation does not regard as fitting in with its ethos, values or brand can get you fired. She signed a contract of employment when she took the job, she was in breach of the terms and conditions of that contract. Are you really saying that no matter what an employee does by way of having a total disregard for the conditions of employment they shouldn't be sacked?

Actions have consequences, by joining this site you agreed to abide by rules as laid down, if you don't you get banned, she chose not to abide by the rules of her job so she got sacked what's the difference.

She will have been represented and as a result admitted both offences and agreed her conduct was unprofessional. She did however deny she was seeking to make money out of the escort profile and that it was just a means of meeting 'like minded' people. That seems a very feeble defence and not surprisingly the panel dismissed it.

It is not the role of the individual panel to decide if a teacher engaged in sex work is unprofessional conduct. This is already largely a given based on the overwhelming view of society. We may not like that and it may be changing slightly, but not to the extent that view can be challenged in cases such as this.

It's not a court, it is a professional conduct hearing. Each profession has its own procedure eg GMC. The findings are made public. As a member of the public, would you be happy if they were not?

To you and I and many others posting here, it may seem double standards if a punter reported it, but let's not forget that many punters have a very low opinion of sex workers.

If we were able to hold an anonymous UKP poll with the question "Would you be happy with your child's primary school teacher being a sex worker?" I would suggest there would be very many who would reply no. Also UKP is not entirely representative of the broader range of punters.
