It's always said that the British are obsessed by the weather and we do seem to constantly talk about it, this is partly due to how variable it is compared to many other places which have more predictable weather patterns
I believe the variability is due to our position at the edge of Europe and the fact that we have something like 5 different weather patterns or influences which all converge over or in close proximity to the British Isles
I've noticed that our weather often goes in patterns which last for about 3 months give or take a few weeks and a lot of our weather is affected by the jet stream.
Over recent years we have had a really good spring which has been warm and dry for a few months but then the summer hasn't been great, I can handle that so long as we do at least have a period of decent weather
The problem is that once the good weather breaks then you know it's likely to be crap for at least a few months and annoyingly we never seem to get 2 x 3 month periods of good weather back to back however we seem to be able to manage back to back periods of shit weather

Anyway is anyone else getting totally fed up with how shit the weather has been as we've not had a great spring this year and i've got no optimism that the summer will be any good either

Last year spring was good into the early summer but 3 weeks into June the weather broke and I don't think we have had what i'd call a good spell of weather now for basically a year apart from the occasional day or two

You can see why people go abroad where the weather is a bit more certain
