Yes anyone with that much knowledge of them will know that the railways run on Tea !..
They certainly don't run on time.... :D

Online DastardlyDick

Anyone still use a flask? I can see the attraction of them still up to a point but the only people I see with them nowadays are train drivers.

They're still out there, just a different shape, and, fortunately, with plastic inners.

Just read this about the 2032 Olympic games which are to be held in Queensland Australia (unless they decide last minute they want to pull out due to the cost  :sarcastic:)
Anyway the rowing and canoeing events are scheduled to be held in the Fitzroy river, oh and BTW it's home to around 500 Saltwater Crocs  :scare:

I'm expecting some records to be broken

In the days before the National Lottery there was the Football Pools. Littlewoods and Vernons being the main 2. Here are some of the checkers back in the day.

Well if you think how many people did the pools, when I was a kid seemingly everyone's Dad did the pools and when I started work there was a couple of blokes who would collect peoples coupons and money, don't forget they also had to check all the spot the ball stuff too.

There was also a rush to actually check the coupons ASAP and announce the prize money for various points, plus the decks had to be clear before the next set of weekend fixtures

I remember the "spot the ball" completion they ran - you could buy rubber stamps to concentrate your x's in a certain spot.

Anyone work in construction?

Are these Bosch wall scanners/stud finders (Bosch GMS120-27) Accurate? waste of money? Looking to start a DIY project at home.

It's a lot cheaper online on the big A.

Here's an old review/comparison that features the Bosch - External Link/Members Only

I got an old Stanley stud finder that was adequate.

No mention of their Nationalities but I believe Greece is quite popular with Germans  :unknown:

From BBC Radio 4 science program today
Scientists have suggested for several years that large dinosaurs were warm blooded (ie could control their body temperature ) now there is evidence supporting it

Scientists have stuck a thermometer into the mouth of a T Rex !

By measuring the clumping of heavy isotopes in the enamel of a T Rex tooth  they have estimated its body temp at 36 deg C +- a couple of degrees

There was a time when seeing someone outside in their pyjamas meant their house was on fire.
Now it just means they're off to the Co-Op.

I was walking around Tesco at about 8pm last week.

There was a woman aged mid twenties walking around with her OH.

She was in pyjamas, dressing gown, furry slippers, and a head full of curlers  :unknown:

Or going to the cinema.. the amount of people I’ve seen (mainly women) that come to late showings at the cinema in full on PJs is concerning!

Surely her OH must have been fulfilling some sort of weird fetish scenario? Surely.  :)

I have seen women in my local shops in their pj's but never in the cinema .
I guess some chavy women spend all day in them.  :unknown:

Routine sight in East London, not least in Aldi and Lidl.

Where I used to live there was a stick skinny Chinese bird who used to go to the corner shop in her nighty, dressing gown (open) and slippers.  Then I was used to seeing such birds with less on than that.
