Has J Ross got the bullet as well? What did he get up to?
I never liked Brand, but Ross was ok when he did the film reviews. Must say I don’t really follow all the other stuff that people get up to. Both men seemed a bit obsessed with their own cocks.

Ross was suspended from the BBC for his part in the Andrew Sachs thing. He might be OK doing interviews but I never watched much of his own show. Generally, he's not in the same league as Brand as a member of the Wankerati.

Toxic masculinity is a bad phrase but basically it means males infringing the rights of women by their words or actions.
Did you mean something else? Because this is a really bad definition, but I'm guessing thats for a different thread.

Pissed off big pharma and whole bunch of others in power.

Dig deep and you will find shit on anyone.

Easy to find shit on brand since he lived such a promiscuous life style could well be guilty

Definatley not a fan of trial by media and twitter though if should be innocent untill proven guilty.

If you watch some of his videos he has rarely if never peddled fake news and uses data he reads from official sources.

He points out a lot of coincidence maybe they just are coincidences. Dozens of them though

There is more than one way to skin a cat, if they want to shut him down they don't need a successful prosecution on rape or sexual harassment, they can do as they are doing now, causing sufficient concern around his presence on media platforms that the owners shut him down of there own volition. You are seeing this now with advertisers pulling their business from Rumble as they don't want to be on the same platform as his channels.

Specifically on that event, I don't know why there wasn't more action taken against both of them, except their apparent popularity. Filmed purposely harassing someone with no provocation.

Because Sachs didn't prosecute?

Apologies if this has been observed before on this thread... I find it interesting that out there in social media Russel Brand seems to have the BBC effect. Some people on the right think he's a leftie and some people on the left think he's a right-winger.   :D

Many people are lazy and eager to label people so they fit nicely in a box, then they can decide if they like or hate them. Saves them from having to listen to the person and make up their own mind. Baaaahhhhh.

It becomes evermore apparent that the majority of people who seek the public eye qualify as "obnoxious dicks", even the saintly Holly Willoughby is looking a little tarnished post Good Morning Britain upheavals.

I recall Brand made an occasionally funny joke when she started up. In later years she appears to be a whiner who specialises in looking as unattractive as possible.

Interesting how not one of the usual suspects seem to see this as suspiciously timed and coordinated.
The UK government pressuring social media companies to cut off his income.
That UK government spokesperson being married to someone high up in the 77th Brigade (the censorship arm of the armed forces).
This is fascism writ large.
Due process out the window.
Trial by Corporate media.
And these same people will accuse Russell Brand of 'spouting right wing talking points'.
Proof that some idiots will accept tyranny as long as its their team doing it

Does anybody really see Russell Brand as some one that big business would seriously see as a threat??

His “humour” and style of behaviour is just too big a misfit for current moral climate..after years of pushing his luck, his luck has run out.

(Just for the “record”, I do agree that likes of YouTube should not be able to continue showing his videos at same time as not paying him. They should be forced to make a choice, if not willing to pay him, the videos should come down.)

He has 6.6mill subscribers on youTube, and his videos are often watched my more than a million people. For comparisons sake, BBC News peak *monthly* viewing figures are 12 million.

Tucker recently ran an interview on Twitter that had 16million views on the day (and 150m+ total) whilst his old platform, Fox news, hit 2 mill for the same time slot when showing the republican presidential debate.

These guys have reach. And are articulate and persuasive. They are 100% platforms to be afraid of.

Maybe Brand is a reincarnation of Rasputin. :)

He may be annoying depending on personal taste.
I've felt uneasy watching him with female guests on TV before.
But I guess it was okay in those days when he wasn't questioning the narrative of the Corporate media.

The evidence against Assange’s ‘rape’ charge was proved flawed, inconclusive, most likely fabricated in the most part, and probably wouldn’t have met standards of evidence in a British court. He was and is a clear inconvenience to U.S. military blunders and the evidence on that is pretty objective. Britain had little choice but release him to the U.S. under the unfair agreements even if the government had dared support him.

Brand wasn’t s threat to any government, only allegedly the women he harassed or raped. I don’t agree with the trial by media, but that’s the game he plays. Assange knew the risks: he took them out of dedication to his profession. Assange was a gift to humanity and it’s a crime that he was incarcerated. Brand on the other hand hasn’t really contributed much as far as I can see, maybe done very lowbrow comedy and abject film roles, so whether he’s guilty or not I don’t personally feel much sympathy for him.

I think you are banging on about censorship cos that’s what you like to do (and fair enough if the mods don’t stop you): but comparing Brand to Assange is a bit low even for you.

I actually  visited the Yusupov Palace on Moika 105 in St Petersburg 5 years ago, and saw the cellar room where Prince Felix Yusopov took part  in the assassination of Rasputin.  I found it odd that Yusupov died as recently as 1967 - you tend to think of Rasputin and the Romanov murders as being ancient history.

Seems the Attorney-General, Victoria Prentis has written to newspapers and media editors warning them about their coverage of the Brand accusations and contempt of court laws, strange state of affairs seeing as these laws don't become applicable until the courts are actually involved, ie after someone has been interviewed / arrested / charged. Is this an attempt by the state to muzzle the media ?

It must have been nice to visit St Petersburg a few years back — though personally I would like to have visited rather more beautiful places than Rasputin histories. I guess many find them fascinating though!

I think trial-by-media is becoming increasingly common. What’s more, they stick in the public mind even if a court decision goes the other way.

Most people will recall the accusations against Johnny Depp: few will recall the relevant court findings, U.K. and U.S.

Most people will remember he was accused of battering his ex-wife.
Some may remember he lost a U.K. court case.

Fewer will remember that the U.K. court case wasn’t about his ex-wife: it was a libel suit against the Sun newspaper.

Fewer still will remember that he won the U.S. court case against his ex-wife. There were substantial damages awarded against her. He offered not to claim them if she stopped making false accusations.

Well that’s where we differ. The evidence against Clinton was factual, provable. Trump let it go instead of taking her to court. His enemies are less generous but that’s to be expected. Putting evidence alongside Alex Jones guesswork doesn’t sit well with me. You may like it — though I think he does your case a disfavour: when Jones is shown up as a conspiracy freak the public tend to throw out well-researched non-mainstream evidence that isn’t.

And can I remind you that Assange/Wikileaks, never in its history published anything later proved to be untrue: a claim possibly unique in the history of media reporting. It was you that introduced Assange to the flippant Brand thread — a ridiculous comparison to further your conspiracy bandwagon. :timeout:

Maybe introduce some evidence? Otherwise you simply further trial-by-media.
