Some will disagree, but based on form..
My starting 11 would be
..Pope 1st choice (he did two mistakes for england but for Newcastle his been superb), even Ramsdale been good..however pickford isn't a issue.
Defence.. Tripper, stones, Ben White, Luke Shaw (Kyle walker 1st choice sub)
Midfield.. Rice, Bellingham and ?? (Can't decide between mount, Henderson or Maddison)
Forward.. Saka, Forden, Kane. (BEST 3)
...depending on opponents tactics...Sterling, Rashford and Grealish have strengths and are good choices to come on for tired players.
Pope and
Ramsdale will throw one in.
Pickford will make a mistake but redeem himself.
Trippier-OK player but if they don't play him in his proper position will get found out.
Stones will cost us a goal.
Ben White not ready for this level, could cost us.
Luke Shaw-Solid but probably get injured.
Kyle Walker- Good but not fully fit so risky.
Rice-Over rated will get found out.
Bellingham- Good up coming youngster. Will have a good world cup as long as he keeps his head.
Henderson-legs are gone passes sideways and backwards.
Grealish-Over hyped donkey-Sorry Jack.
Maddison if used may sink rather than swim at this level.
Saka- will play good in parts but get caught out positionally.
Foden- Nice little player but too little. Will get bullied off the ball.
Rashford will have a good impact off the bench but is not world level.
Kane will of course score goals but will come deep and doesn't have the legs to get back in the position he's supposed to be in , in-between the goals when the ball comes in.
Sterling not in form but as one of England's most experienced tournament players in that squad will start and score.
Maguire will start, good solid defender. Too slow. Fingers crossed he doesn't cost us the whole damn tournament.
