Thoughts on the new three lions song well revamped for about the 1,000000000th time

Watch Baddiel & Skinner’s revamped Three Lions in full as it gets Christmas rewrite for England’s 2022 World Cup bid

I heard somewhere the people forking out a lot of money for private boxes at stadiums. Will still be allowed to drink alcohol.
Just the plebs who actually attend to watch the match that get none.

There has been more chat about this shitty country than there has been about football.
Fucking disgrace to hold it there in the first place.

But……. Money buys you stuff dunnit.

I see this as a Win imo. Keeps episodes of hooliganism and idiots away. I don't think Qatar has time for drunken louts wrecking havoc around city centre and thrashing opposing fans. There's nearly always chaos amongst gand in every International tournament.

Man I would love too see that
Budweiser in hand, cheering them on to batter each other..
All from the comfort of my living room of course..

Beautiful wonderful live entertainment 🥊🥊🥊👊👊👊👊

What will they do? Cut off their hands??
According to Sepp Blatter (well you would believe him wouldn't you!) it's Platini's fault. He should have voted for the USA, but instead changed to Qatar as the French had an arms deal going through with the Qatari Government.

Still wounded by Englands loss in the Euros.

I'm not expecting much from the boys this way wont get  the ultimate disappointment.  Semi final would be nice tho . Come on England. No pressure.

Englands group schedule is as follows with kick off times and tv channel

England v Iran  (Mon 21st Nov 13:00 BBC1)
England v USA  ( Fri 25th Nov 19:00 ITV  )
England v Wales ( Tue 29th Nov 19:00 BBC1 )   :hi:

Hopefully both England and Wales will go into the last game already qualified  :yahoo:

Panic over, alcohol is available @ WC stadiums
External Link/Members Only
As long as fans are in corporate hospitality !
So the hordes of posh guests & FIFA hangers on will be just fine

The same has been happening in the middle east countries where alcohol is banned for donkeys ages
Initially restricted to upmarket posh hotels [tho in Dubai for example being made more widely available to generate AED]

Qatar had initially told fans they would be able to buy beer outside the stadium bowl itself, within the perimeter for ticketholders,
"three hours prior to kick-off when the gates open and one hour after the final whistle".
Now, it is understood beer will only be available in alcohol-serving fan zones in Qatar after 6.30pm
and drunk fans will be sent to special zones to sober up.

Budweiser have paid £60m for the privilege
No doubt those organizing the event promised them the ability to sell beer at stadiums to crank up the fee to the max
Now the goal posts are being moved, so to write
So as supposedly not to offend the qatari royal family
As if those organizing had no inclination whatsoever that this would happen

I wonder what else is gonna go Pete
The tournament hasnt even started yet & there's what players can & cant say about LGBT, restricted alcohol sales & fake fans

Budweiser are going to be selling Bud Zero @ stadiums
Never had this, i'm presuming it makes Bud Light look most appealing

As for special zones to sober up after the footy, they have these in Manchester
They're called massage parlours
The ones which open late can be a bit grim  :scare:, tho when you have beer goggles on its more difficult to notice.  Or care  :D

It's cos of Brazils superb squad this year.
Goalkeeper: choice of Man city's or Liverpools.
Defence: Thiago Silver from Chelsea, Marquinhos from PSG
Midfield: Fabinho from Liverpool, Casamiro, Antony & Fred from Man u, Guimares from Newcastle.
Their wingers, forwards: Arsenals Martinelli & Jesus. Vinci Jr & Raphinha from la liga and ofcourse Neymar.

Argentina also got a good squad, so do Portugal and maybe Belgium.

Its one of the 6

Brazil
France
Argentina
Portugal
Belgium
And..........England...

Cmon England

Judging by the Euros, Spain are better than Belgium who look finished. Definitely seems like the end of their era.

Spain I think just about deserved to beat Italy and play us in the final.

I went to the South African World Cup in 2010.  They only received that World Cup because they brought Nelson Mandela out to every event leading up to their nomination and bidding round.  I went to quite a lot of the games and it was a World Cup that had very few foreigners.  I was not surprised as a lot of hotels put up prices for everything (I guess that’s normal).  The Argentinians came out in full force however.  Those damn vuvuzelas ruined the whole event.

Re the stadiums they built a state of the art stadium right next to a rugby stadium in Durban. The dilapidated rugby stadium still holds events bringing in decent numbers but the more expensive to run football stadium struggles to maintain its cost and holds weddings and some sporting games throughout the year. A colossal waste of money given the amount it still apparently costs to run.  They should upgraded the rugby stadium and it would have cost a fraction and had longer term benefits.   That’s not the thinking when brown envelopes are being passed around.  The problem about hosting a World Cup in many of these countries is that they will never reap any financial benefit for the stadiums they build as the local football is nowhere near as popular as even our league one stadiums bring in.

Online webpunter

With Qatar having invested in infrastructure including the stadiums & hotels think you'll see more sporting events being held there
Footy & boxing for example
The new hotels provide accomo capacity

& for whatever might be commented on about Qatar, going there is much much more attractive than Saudi Arabia [they've wedged up big style for boxing]
The countries on the eastern side of the arab peninsular are more westernized in their approach, Dubai being the most advanced
Dubai has changed the working week with previously Fridays off & working Saturday
Now aligned with the rest of the globe working Mon-Fri
Qatar on the other hand has the working week Sun-Thurs, see how long this lasts as a more global approach is taken

Qatar's investment wont have gone un-noticed at the greedy FIA [read FIFA with an F missing] so expect a very sizeable bid & the promise to build a new F1 track super fast
Sochi aint gonna happen again [in the next decade+] so there is a space
As tourists head to Qatar in greater no's i wonder how long it will take our fave sport to have increased capacity there too [its wall to wall in Dubs  :yahoo: tho very expensive  :dash:]

With the favourable climate in Qatar its more easy to keep stadiums ticking over without falling into a state of disrepair as seen elsewhere

I expect Qatar Airways to in part be subsidized by the Govt to encourage tourists to visit with slightly cheaper flights compared to going to Dubai for example

The problem about hosting a World Cup in many of these countries is that they will never reap any financial benefit for the stadiums they build as the local football is nowhere near as popular as even our league one stadiums bring in.

Yeah we already have the stadia in place to host a WC but miss out as we're not prepared to bung the cash in bribes, no such qualms when it comes to Putin and Qatar etc

It's incredible to think that since England last staged a World cup that with the next tournament being staged in USA, Canada and Mexico that the USA will be staging it for a second time and Mexico  for a third time. I can't see England staging it again for a long time, probably not in my lifetime. Perhaps we ran out of brown envelopes   :unknown:

Whatever happens this World Cup, I hope we at least respond if/when we go a goal behind.  There is enough attacking talent there to cause many teams problems.   We have some very good players that have been coached by world class managers in the Premier League to be on the front foot so I hope we go for it come what may.

As for us getting the World Cup again, after the debacle of the Euros final it won’t happen anytime soon.  Taking alcohol away from stadiums is not necessarily a bad thing if you avoid hooliganism.  The U.S Canada, Mexico WC in 2026 will be fantastic.  They have the crowds, financial backing and pretty much everything you need to host a successful World Cup.

Would everybody agree that your favourite World Cup is the first one you remember. It seems to be the answer when you ask people.

The first World Cup I remember is Italia 90. Despite the negative football in that tournament it is still my favourite. I remember the 1 hour review the BBC did that Christmas which I lost count the number of times I watched. I can remember the commentary of so many goals.

It's a joke, I saw a video of so called labelled England fans singing "it's coming home" in a different accent, with all due respect, I don't think they were from England. They surely would of known the song..

But then my twitter and Facebook has 100s of comments from fake Man utd fans mainly from overseas who are praising Ronaldo. They support Ronaldo rather then Man Utd and most apparently became fans cos of CR7..
Every time I fly to a country in Asia, Africa and Middle East and discuss football with the locals, they support Barcelona purely because of Messi, They support Liverpool cos of Salah or support Man u cos of Ronaldo

Hence why I Use the term fake man u fans

England will make it through the group, I can't remember the last time they didn't. What is it with you sassenachs, always looking at the negatives or downplaying your chances. As a tortured Scot who has witnessed countless humiliations over the years, it never fails to perplex me. Ok penalties have let you down in the past, but if you don't win the game over 90/120 minutes then learn how to take penalties.
