Author Topic: Recommendation for electric razor  (Read 1297 times)

I am looking for an electric razor, i have not owned one for years and I have gotten used to using disposable razors. There are so many electric razors on the market now and many have mixed reviews. I obviously don't want to keep cutting myself and keep ending up with razor burns which is what the manual razors are causing.

budget below £60 preferably.

thanks to all those who may be able to help.

Not sure if this is exactly the type of razor you're looking for, but can recommend the Babyliss Super-X Metal Series 15 in 1 Multi Trimmer. The two trimmer heads cut very close and there's a foil trimmer head as well which helps get a smoother finish. Listed at £120 but pops up on sale usually, no doubt will be down close to £60 around Black Friday in a few weeks. I got it from Amazon last November for £61 in fact.

Hope this helps!

personally I cannot get on with the foil type shavers I find the rotary eg Phillishave much better
Currently using a Remington rotary which I bought half price at Morgan Computers - dont think they have any left though

Seeing as though undeadly has just recently been banned on the back of recently making reviews all being from the same evening (last night). would it be worth deleting his reviews as I am presuming that they may be fake reviews after taking a quick read through at some of them?

for instance - he left a neutral review of a wg name veronica while on the same night posing a question under another reviewers review of the same wg.

Does she do T&T? That's something new probably. Can you tell a bit more mb?

Not sure if LB or Southwark. Very close to BM.

Price: 150/90min (yoga+massage)

I saw her several times, so the grade is an average. As I understand, she offers yoga, b2b massage and BJ. I only did yoga and massage.

Yoga: 8/10. It was the first time for me, and it's a very niche service (which I value high in general). It's very sensual, she calls it yoga for couples. I sweated profusely, but kept up, very pleasurable overall, she exposes her whole body, and 'intertwines' with you (for the lack of better word).

Alas, this is where positive impressions terminate. She uses some strange perfume, which smells very...dunno, dry mb? or bland? Serious turn-off for me. Her B2B massage is, well, not exciting at all, which, given her toned body, is quite strange. I think she doesn't offer anything else. If there was some yoga pose where she, for example, gave a good HJ in some yoga-way, that would certainly escalate her mark.

So that was it for me; her charms are depleted. Though, If anyone knows similar yoga services, or perhaps some kind of exercising, I'd be quite keen to try.

Phillishave for me too, does a decent job . Likewise I prefer rotary shavers to foil razors

I’ve never found an electric razor that I liked so I keep going back to a shaving brush and a Gillette blade.

I was consindering replacing my ancient Philishave too and had a budget of around £ 120 to get a "decent one".

Then I started browsing and realised that prices are crazy and £ 120 would likely only get me a basic model.

electric razors in general are quite pricey which is why I am taking a bit of time picking the right one as I dont want to waste my money.

If you want to go mad, get this. I am tight as a snake's arse but it's the fastest and best shave imaginable. External Link/Members Only. I am biased as it's perfect for baldies.

Well outside your budget but the best electric shaver is the Braun Series 9 Pro.

Always been sceptical about electric shavers but this thing is amazing,  so easy to use, provides a very clean shave and quick to use.

Downside is the £279 price  :scare:

Yes-they are pricey but they tend to last for years and when you then consider the prices of razor blades then maybe it's not a bad investment after all

Me being a punter I do have a tendancy to approach life with an attitude of "I can see a wg for an hour for that price"

I find I can make Gillette Contour blades last 6 - 9 months by
a) First washing face vigorously with soap, flannel and almost unbearably hot water, then
b) Holding razor such that blade is at 45 deg to the pulling direction
c) Most importantly, thoroughly drying the blade after use by pulling razor backwards several times against a dry towel.

This  last step removes traces of water which would otherwise leave a deposit of abrasive hard water scale. ( Live in a hard water area)

I no longer bother to use the razor's vibrator function. Also, am not a head shaver.

Blinking obvious wouldn't you say. I do that as I would imagine most wet shavers do. But blades lasting 6 to 9 months, don't think so unless you have bum fluff and shave Once per month  :hi:
