I should mention if the costs of razors is an issue get a razor pit it makes them last miles longer than usual.
I find I can make Gillette Contour blades last 6 - 9 months by
a) First washing face vigorously with soap, flannel and almost unbearably hot water, then
b) Holding razor such that blade is at 45 deg to the pulling direction
c) Most importantly, thoroughly drying the blade after use by pulling razor backwards several times against a dry towel.
This last step removes traces of water which would otherwise leave a deposit of abrasive hard water scale. ( Live in a hard water area)
I no longer bother to use the razor's vibrator function. Also, am not a head shaver.
