Sky glass is a cheap tv with sky streaming built in. The tv quality isn’t great. I guess there hasn’t been much uptake which is why Sky has them on “sale” at the minute.
I have no issues having a sky q box on each tv. Rather than sky glass, they would be better off working on integrating the sky go app into new smart tv’s
But my Smart TV has the NOW app - isn't that the same thing?
This is why I don't understand glass (or the wildly expensive Q)..... My very high quality TV has all the streaming apps built in and a very good slick interface that even Mrs GB can operate. One remote control (the TV one of course) does all, including voice control. Can also control via our smart speaker, y'know, can walk in the room and say "hey Google, play Stranger Things" and on comes the telly, flicks to Netflix and it resumes where I left it. This control via smart speaker doesn't work on the NOW app though - presume Sky block the functionality?
I currently have no NOW subscriptions. Until recently I was paying £5 for entertainment £5 for movies and £20 for Sport. I'll probably resume Sport in August and the others in Autumn. This seems far far more economical than forking out for Sky hardware AND £50+ stuck in a contract? I'm not arsed about pausing or rewinding live TV or paying extra for UHD. HD pic is fine on our telly - I watch 4K on Disney and Amazon for free. Yeah, it's a better pic but it ain't £5 a month that Now wants better!
