This is the first time this has happened to me in ten years of punting - radio silence.

I always, without fail, make a point of speaking to a SP before making a booking with them. There are so many fake AW profiles out there, my mantra has always been - no verbal communication, no booking. Last week, I sent a message to norwichcouple via AW asking for their mobile number, so I could touch base with them, within a couple of minutes I was sent a mobile number. I phoned the number I was given and spoke at great length to 'Scarlett' - a very charming lady, who seemed polite, chatty, sincere, friendly, local accent - but above all, genuine. Indeed, she spoke in great deal about how she and her partner have to juggle bookings around childcare arrangements. All very believable. On the strength of this, I made a booking, which was confirmed by the couple. I was sent a postcode in the NR4 area of Norwich; about a five-minute walk from Colman Junior School.

Sure enough, on the day, I arrived in good time for the booking. At about 5-10 minutes prior to the agreed time, I telephoned the couple to request their house number. The call went to answerphone. I left a message. Radio silence. I telephoned again about 2 minutes prior to the appointment, again the call went to answerphone. I left another message. Radio silence. I telephoned again 10 minutes after the agreed appointment time - again the call went to answerphone. I left a third message. Radio silence. I got in my car and drove home. When I got home, I checked my AW account - no message. Four hours after the agreed booking time, I sent them a message via AW requesting an explanation of why they did not honour my booking today. I got a reply. Some cock and bull story about them having problems with their mobile phone in relation to incoming calls. They claimed that they did not receive my three messages until 3 hours after I had made them! Why didn't they text me the house number 10 minutes before the booking? Why didn't they 'phone/text me a few minutes after the agreed time to see where I was? Am I to believe that they only have one mobile phone between the two of them? If they had 'phoned/texted me a few minutes after the agreed time and their mobile had failed, use another one, or use the the landline. Just not buying their bullshit.

I'm torn between thinking that the lady I spoke to is either a wind-up merchant or mentally ill  or more likely the couple received a call from one of their regulars in the morning and they favoured a booking by a regular punter more than me, a first-timer. I noticed from her profile that she charges £180 an hour but they charge £150 an hour as a couple. Maybe one of her regular punters 'phoned her at the eleventh hour and she favoured £180 for one hour's work, rather than my £100 for 45mins.   

Maybe norwichcouple are a genuine couple, maybe not. Maybe both are genuine independent SPs, maybe not. Just wanted to make punters out there aware and to exercise caution in relation to norwichcouple; scarlettswitch and norwichtruegent. Just for the record, no deposit was requested by the couple and I haven't given the couple any reason to think that I'm not 100% genuine.

What amazes me sometimes is the maths involved in their rate.  £45 buys you the first min. Another £35 total £80 gets their 30min rate. Another £20 buys 45 mins at rate of £100 BUT to get another 15mins costs an extra £50 to get the 1hr rate of £150.

The fact their couple profile has hidden feedback is all you need to know really. Anyone that has to hide or can't explain bad feedback is a huge red flag. Seems as if you were bumped for another punter which is a really poor sign. She has a lot of positive reviews on her main profile, which is strange as that profile alone would look good enough to take the plunge.

Sorry about your negative experience OP, TOFTT punts are always a bit of a wild west in terms of quality. I've tried a few myself with differing outcomes

At the time I made the booking, the feedback wasn't hidden. Maybe I should have checked back on their profile before the day. You're right - it looks as if I was bumped for another punter. My booking was for 45mins for £100 for the couple. It's more than likely that my slot was taken by another punter at the last minute probably offering her £180 for the hour and too late in the day for her to get in touch with me to cancel my booking. I have heard this practice before, personally I find it greedy and disrespectful. I guess a negative review on UKPunting is something they won't like.

Reading between the lines of the three profiles, this does not seem to be a genuine couple, she has left feedback for him on his.

The feedback now hidden is a disputed negative or neutral if you hover over it, quite likely a similar experience to yours, maybe on the same day, I have a feeling this is a hook up couple trying to make it work, and it was probably him that flaked on the day.

The main thing that makes me think this though, her pictures, a genuine couple would take pictures of one another, hers are mainly phone reflection selfies. Surely a partner would take some basic decent pics.

I think it is a case of two providers trying to get it together at the arranged time and it failing, never seen a couple who price at a lower rate than the single profile and as pointed out pricing is all over the shop too.

I could be completely wrong, usually good at reading between the lines though, too many inconsistencies for this to be a genuine couple.

Seems like they hid it until they were able to dispute it. Conflicting stories, with OP saying there was radio silence from them on the day and the SP saying there was no communication on the day. Either way someone's not telling the entire truth

When I spoke to 'Scarlett' prior to making the booking, I did enquire about her relationship with 'Ollie'. She said that although they are not married, they do live together. Mind you, she's come out with so many lies, who knows? I think she's a basket case. Let's draw a line under it and move on.

Oh, the power of UKPunting. I had a message from her on AW sent last night apologising most profusely for the "mix up". She gave me another mobile number - that's the third different mobile number she has sent me - asking me to call it to rebook! I declined her offer. She must have read all the negativity about her on this 'site and thought about reconciliation. Well, it hasn't worked. What a piece of work

Seems as if they're just time wasters who are covering their tracks now that they've been found out. They may have created a new account due to bad feedback previously

I note a punter has left negative feedback about them on AW. Similiar scenerio to mine. The only difference is that they claim this guy didn't confirm the booking on the day, whereas their excuse to me was mobile issues. When I booked they didn't mention to me that I had to confirm on the day (I very much doubt that they mentioned this to the other punter either). Only a matter of time before they delete the profile on AW and create another one. The woman I spoke to prior to making the booking really does require urgent psychological help.

I messaged them once and they replied they were not available on the day (although the green light was on). Asked about arranging a future booking, suggested various dates,  all were unavailable too! Anyway, based on OPs experience, looks like I dodged a bullet. They're also on the fabswingers site, seeking bisexual MMF and group action.

Yes, I saw them initially on the Fabswingers site, then tracked them down on AW. I thought they were genuine because they have some glowing reviews from other verified members on Fabswingers.

It doesn't matter, if you contact them via Fabswingers, or via AW, they won't honour your bookng anyway, so both are a complete waste of time!
