Most north sea oil is exported to get refined abroad. Does not come to the UK.

Whilst that’s true, refinery setups can be adapted to market conditions.

Grangemouth, for much of its operation before closure, used to take North Sea crude through the Forties pipeline system into Kinneil.

Our biggest issue, as I’ve said elsewhere, is our lack of refining capacity. We’ve gone from 18 refineries in the 70s to just 4 today.

IIRC the geology make it easier to pipe to Norway than Scotland even though a bit further

Please forgive my ignorance, but who are the band of Russian stooges?

Reading your posts, I'd also be interested to know which political party you support.

Russian stooges.
Have you watched or read any news in the last 12 months?  Leader of Reform in Wales?  Harborne donor links to Russan State Media, Farage being a clear Putin fan, he has said it himself.  David Coburn, Yaxley Lennon on RT (Russian State TV -give it a watch).  Direct Action, a Russian funded social media 'influencer outlet' that started and amplified the Starmer Rent Boys story.
The Hansard Report on Russian influence in the UK is a scary read.

My political beliefs?
Down the middle with a slight lean to the right if Im honest as I believe in equal opportunity rather than equal outcomes more that I do a wholly socialist view, but I also believe that a country and its people should be measured on how well it treats its most vulnerable and marginalised people.  Complicated isnt it and once you understand that complication thats where you find out who you really are.
Ive voted in the past for Labour and Conservatives nationally in the past and Lib Dems in local elections though never nationally, I just had a very good Lib Dem member of parliament for some time.
I go on policy and who I think is the most trustworthy and will do best for the country and hope Democracy, with all its issues and problems, eventually gives us a better world.
Thats my hope at least even though I know as soon as they are in Parliament they all have a nose in a trough of some description.

UK has a diesel shortage. If only they drill the North Sea. Its not about cost as that's global markets. But about relying on imports. USA will soon limit exports. But if the uk drilled north sea, Guess what they could have it.

Another bad Labour decision, Andy is taking his time to agree to it. Net Zero is dead and no one cares tbh about Net Zero.

Not only hard of thinking but you also can't do some simple research.
You do know Maggie Thatcher sold all offhsore drilling rights as part of the Oil and Gas (Enterprise) Act in 1982 dont you?
Which means what is drilled is owned by the largely foreign (mostly Norwegian, French and US) owned oil companies.
Whilst the UK got a massive windfall when it was sold the underlying outcome was, unklike Norway that kept its sovereign oil reserves (Government Pension Fund Global) and now has a $2 trillion sovereign fund as a result, was a massibve long term loss of both fuel and monetary security as a result.
Andy Burnham was 12 at the time and can now do the fuck all about it.  Unless you want him to invade Norway, but TOTAL Energy, EXXOnMobil, Repsol and Centrica?   I'm sure he can find a few hundred trillion down the back of the sofa.  For Chriusts Sake even BP isnt British owned and that has British in the name!

Well there should be anger. They tried to blow an army base up and get bail. No Tag is stopping them going out and blowing something else up and putting lives at risk.

What if the terrorist were caught and still  put on bail before 7 july, then still went ahead with their plan. There would be Anger. These lot will do the same, They know they are banged to rights. So will do what they want.  Terrorist/murders are high risk and are usually remanded in custody.

The governments lack of planning is. If we had the North Sea, then we are not as reliant on USA/Hormuz etc
According to Offshore Energy UK (External Link/Members Only) we've taken around 93% of the extractable Oil & Gas from the North Sea, with a rough estimate of 218 million tonnes left in existing fields out to 2050 (source:- North Sea Transition Authority)
They're going to use them to store Carbon where possible.

Apparently three migrants - including a child - drowned today when a boat containing around a hundred migrants overturned in the Channel.

Given that nobody is going to try to stop them anyway, why not lay on some ferries so they can all make the crossing safely?

I'll agree things have been slacker than they should have been for decades however the fact still remains that Brexit meant we were no longer covered by the Dublin agreement so had no legal way to return illegal migrants.

I was quite impressed with his interview on Laura Kuenssberg in Liverpool, particularly his obvious commitment to trying to resolve the crisis in social care. If he can pull that off it will be a great achievement.
The position of Labour Prime Ministers is always a bit of a poisoned chalice with having to deal with the constant barrage from the right wing press on one side, and pressure from union barons and the hard left on the other.
On a personal level, I quite like the bloke and I wish him well.

Thats because you, like many others thanks to Farage and other rhetoric get ECHR mixed up with the UNHCR.

Given that 👁️ran are denying any involvement [they would say that] i would wager that whilst they may be UK Nationals that they aren't white
Working on the basis that either they or their parents were born abroad & have somehow got the right to remain or citizenship this IMO does not make them British
That there have been weak border controls for decades is the problem
They arrive legally or illegally then end up getting citizenship & no doubt a british passport
Lets see whether the rozzers / security services release details of those arrested [who have now been released]
When whoever it is are white they have a race to get this info out at the earliest opportunity & when they're not they drag this out as long as they can

Its the same for a man in Luton last month who attacked a woman with a knife & an armed response unit arrived
Shot him four times
Apparently life changing injuries which irrespective of his colour nationality pleases me as he's a cunt for attacking the woman
Lets see if the rozzers release any details ...

There was a manpower shortage after WW2 and we had a lot of migrants then.
I dont know all the details but I assume they were documented unlike some of todays.
We controlled the numbers then, as far as I know.
I dont know how many are undocumented and the government are not going to say.

Today is different because we cant stop the border crashers.
Most are young males in or slightly above the 18-24 age group.

The reason that Peter Brookes – who I see from Wikipedia turned 83 yesterday – is the doyen of Times political cartoonists is partly the quality and allure of his draughtsmanship and partly the way he so often catches the essence of an issue or a personality.

His cartoon in yesterday’s paper seems to me a clever and accurate take on “Burnhamism” (although I don’t think he’s quite got Burnham’s “look”).

I thought I would just dig a bit and see what he is really like, well guess what he really is the slimeball I thought he was.

So P 2022, what is you like about him?

Is it that whilst he was at Dulwich College he called other students the N word, and/or Pakis.  Said Hitler was right and made hissing sounds to imitate gas chambers.  Marched through the streets singing Hitler youth songs.
Or is it that when he was an MEP and on the fisheries committee he attended 1 out of 42 meetings.
Maybe because when he was an MEP he claimed £15k x's for an office which he didn't pay anything for, a few other misdemeanours which led to him £35k deducted from his EU salary due to "misspent EU funds" and he said I can spend it as I see fit (hmmm that sounds familiar)
Since becoming an MP he has breached the MP's code of conduct 17 times.
Whilst slagging off tax avoiders he set up a trust fund in an offshore tax haven.
I nearly forgot the £5m bung for his personal use that's none of anybody else's business, that was for his security.....or was it as a reward for campaigning for Brexit, the story changed that often I can't remember.
Then there is the property questions, £1.4m cash for a house that was bought with his fee from I'm a sleb, but how come the money was still in the company accounts?  £885k for a house in Clacton that Farage bought but but but it's in his girlfriends name?
Oh and of course then he was caught trying to get donations illegally from overseas donors, but they didn't do anything wrong (erm only because they got caught whilst eating oysters and drinking Champagne).
Not an exhaustive list by the way.

So just remind me again P2022 what is it exactly about man of the people Nigel you like?
