By the way, I'm sure my friend would like to know...by the 'mainstream media' being the only reputable sources of information, do you mean the Daily Mail and GB News?
You've opened a very big can of worms!
What is "objective news"? Is any news entirely objective?
I read the
Times, which is generally regarded as a pretty centrist paper. Certainly there is a wide range of opinions offered by its columnists, although I have yet to see anyone advocating voting for either Reform UK or the Greens. I suppose for balance I should also read the
Telegraph and the
Guardian, but life's too short; and I'm not sure I would see much support for Reform or the Greens in those papers, either. Meanwhile most television news has tended to have a left-wing bias.
However – while all the sources I have mentioned can, I think, be trusted not to tell lies – it could be argued that bias can arise, sometimes but not always unconsciously, in what the various outlets choose to report and how they select and present their information. In my view that would be more likely to apply to the
Daily Mail and
GB News than the outlets I have named. But not exclusively.
