..well, I've been a member now for coming on 2 months. I'm still actively punting (and writing reviews!) so thought I'd take the time to review the review site kinda thing, as a new member. Thought it would be interesting to share my views if nothing else. Feel free to comment, question, flame or otherwise engage over any aspect of this review. I won't promise a reply - but likely will engage with any well thought out and articulate responses.
OK - let's set the tone for the review first - if you're a dickhead, you probably won't like this review. It's aimed at those who came to use the site as intended - to research Service Providers and provide feedback on encounters with Service Providers. If you're like me, you may engage in the odd conversation here and there, but aren't really here to socialise and make new friends. This review really is just me feeding back to the community on my experience with the forum to date. It's not intended to be anything else.
Content5/5 here - and major kudos to every member contributing a review. I know some people get "shot down" for their reviews not containing all the information people want - but anyone making an attempt at a review for me is trying to do the right thing. Everyone has their own style and the guide on writing reviews does help - I created my own format which works for me to cover all the essentials as I saw them. Feel free to steal it if you're reading this (just check out my reviews - they all use the same format) or just head over to the formal guide here:
External Link/Members Only. I've also found those members who write reviews and then engage in the commentary afterwards provide the better reviews overall as the interactive element really can help when undecided over an SP who has been reviewed.
Overall, I can honestly say the content on this forum has saved me from throwing a fair few £££'s down the drain - I've done the odd TOFTT which I like to think that money has gone towards, but have also arranged bookings with SPs based purely on the number of positive reviews an SP has on here or the specifics contained in a review. The site has been invaluable - and from the feedback and comments on some of my reviews, I'd like to think I'd helped the odd person out here and there with some insight to make their own decisions on some of the SPs I've seen.
CommunityRight - obvious out of the way. Rule breakers - as far as I'm concerned, you break the forum rules - you get what you deserve. I read the rules in full before I made my first post (which was my first review) and often go back for a refresher here and there. Some people I've noticed sail far to close to the wind with their comments and "bending" the rules. Thankfully - looks like there's an attentive and active moderator team here. Kudos to all of you lot - you keep this site on track and able to provide a place to share opinions, thoughts and best of all warnings to others for service providers who've not delivered on their promises, without it descending into chaos.
On this forum I've noticed two main categories of people (there's a few other odd balls for sure - but I love you lot, you make me chuckle - you don't quite fit this mold, but I'm sure you know who you are!). The givers and the takers.
Anyone visiting an SP and not leaving a review, IMHO - shouldn't be here. I just don't get why you would purchase a subscription if you didn't intend to contribute. I just can't fathom it. Similarly those who promise to review and it never materialises either to justify their existence on a thread on a loosely related topic, or make themselves seem like "Mr Big" with no follow through - just simply, bugger off. My eyes don't want to read your drivel. If you had a bad time with an SP, or were treated badly - write a f'in review. Tell us who it was. I for sure don't want to visit someone who's going to treat me like a piece of $hit, so just write a review instead of making offhand comments elsewhere about the latest SP who blew you off (not literally) with some lame excuse. Don't promise you'll write a review, or a review is coming - just write the darn review already. The keyboard strokes you've wasted telling us you're going to write a review, could have been used to start writing the damn thing.
I also think some people's post > review ratio is WAAAAAAAAY off. If you have left 0, 1 or 2 reviews and have posted hundreds of comments, seriously - WTF are you doing with your life by being on here so much ? If you punt, write a review. If you don't punt - why are you here? Wank bank material? Go Google "Porn" instead - pretty sure it'll be better than berating some poor chap who's got a bit of EAS for being a "sucker". Chill out. Offering to "go bang the bitch, see how you feel then" - really isn't helping, or is healthy for anyone. There's good advice and bad advice and more too often I come across the odd comment from someone who in my opinion has mental health issues; spewing out the most ludicrous crap disguised as "trying to help". You're not fooling anyone with your diatribe. I'm not going to name, shame or call anyone out - but those of sound mind and body on here I'm pretty sure will know what I mean. If you haven't got something positive to contribute or a genuine question, shut the fuck up.
That said - there are a lot of folks on here who do use the site the same as I do - and I believe is the intention - to review, and read reviews about SP's - with a little bit of gentle banter on some of the other forums/threads (I've not been able to contribute yet as I've never had a "fun" one pop up, but the AW silly authentication code thread has brought the odd chuckle:
https://www.ukpunting.com/index.php?topic=138033.0). In anycase, a big thanks from me to you to the contributors. Without you lot telling us all who's good, who's bad and who's "maybe ok for a P&D", punting wouldn't be half as fun.
It would be great to see more interaction from SPs - reviewing the review kind of stuff, but based on the harshness of some in the reviews, I can kinda see the point some have made in the past as this not being a site for them - and they're right. Though in all honesty, I'd rather the good SPs were out providing stellar services to us discerning gentleman, rather than being on here arguing the toss about their OWO being deep enough or not, yadda yadda, etc. etc.
SummaryTop site, great mods - majority of the members do exactly what it says on the tin. There's a few dickheads from what I can see - who seemingly enjoy being infantile and/or hostile to other members, but they seem to soon get mopped up by the mods. I definitely feel like the site has saved me from making some bad decisions - you just can't believe all the AW profiles out there. Those of you who TOFTT - you get the biggest salute of them all from me. I try and pitch in where time and money allows - but it's you brave soldiers who "risk it for a biscuit" who are the true punters out there in my eyes.
Thanks for all the reviews folks, and keep them coming !
