#MeToo. A much purer Blues vibe. Eliminator had great songs and I'm into those too, but the robotic, computerised rhythm track with bass and guitar over the top formula doesn't quite cut it in the same way for me.
Not knocking Eliminator though, it paid for their very nice 'pensions' many times over. Just a shame Dusty didn't get to enjoy too much of it.
Yes I think Eliminator was the start of a slightly different sound for them and perhaps the start of becoming more popular

I do like a lot of their older stuff and as you say it had a more blues / R&B vibe to it, I do listen to a "Best of" double album every so often and it's great as it has songs from across a few decades on it.
Some of those old songs have lyrics that you just wouldn't get away with these days like "Mexican Blackbird" about a prostitute and contains the following lyrics -
They all call her her, "Puta"
'Cause no one really knows her name
She works the cantina
Dancin' and a-lovin's her trade
Her mama was Mez'can
And her daddy was the ace of spades
