Used to watch it in the early days when we had a chance.
Now I record it and watch most of it at 32 speed, maybe stopping occasionally to listen to the odd song or admire some young crumpet.

The voting is a joke, and I'm a bit bored by the fact it's become more kitsch every year and commandeered by the LGBT community.

Semi finals predictably being presented by 'Eurovision Superfans' Rylan and Scott Mills, with Graham Norton presenting the final....good diversity by the BBC.

Bring back Terry Wigan......or even Katie Boyle!

I never bother watching it but just tune in the last 10 minutes to watch the scoring. The last time I probably watched it all the way through was the year Abba won it in 1974. Too many countries in it now (some that aren't even in Europe) and too much " political" voting. That and the fact that 99% of the songs are crap anyway.  I don't even know who's representing the UK this year

Graham Norton is miles better than Terry Wogan.
He has his funny moments. Terry made his commentary really doll and boring.  This may be controversial to say but it is true. Terry was even boring when he presented children in need.

Likewise, I only tuned in at the last half hour to see the voting. I thought I was seeing things when the UK were winning  then the public votes came in and you just knew that Ukraine would win when they were given 400+ votes and boosted them from mid table to top of the leader board.  However you can't begrudge them their moment of glory after all that they are going through.  Isn't it tradition that the winning country get to stage the contest the following year, somehow I can't see that happening . By the way how long have Australia been part of Europe ? As scutty brown points out I hope all those that backed Ukraine 🇺🇦  to win are going to donate their winnings to charities helping them .

I confess that I am a eurovision junkie. I watched both tuesday, saturday and a little bit of thursday.

Albeit I watch with a punters eye 

Sweden was probably my favourite song and the girl was a blonde petite bombshell so win-win.

Also ran was Spain who basically had her arse out, both beautiful cheeks wobbling all over the place. 

Worthy of mention was Czech republic, just a really gorgeous girl

I watched it once properly over 10 years ago and even viewing that one, It was obvious some countries  were voting to curry political favor. It's a joke.

Nothing against Ukraine but this just undermines and shows its not about the how good your act is.

Thought most songs were OK loved Moldova's song was pure old school Eurovision Bip Bam Bop style there were quite a few decent looking women. Putting all the cynicism and politics aside (all of it justified) .. for years the UK has said we will never win it because its political and everyone hates us (also true), but the reality is that, as many have also said, we simply enter very mediocre songs never able to overcome that bias.

Make no mistake Sam Ryder's song is well written, simple and catchy, but the vocals are extraordinary. This combination means it is streets ahead of anything we have entered since well .... Katrina and the Waves and Love Shine a Light

Hmm listened to the Sam Ryder songer - pleased for him, seems a nice story, but the song seemed generic to me, and the vocals more Justin Hawkins than Freddie Mercury (I'd read that it was like a Queen song - but he's not a patch on Freddie).

Watched the official vid earlier, just watched the vid of his live performance, and I it was better than the pre-recorded version IMO.

Any other year that was a winning performance, he was the winner really, apparently did a lot of self promotion in the run up which won people over, not easy to win votes for British acts in this competition

If you're going down that route weren't Spain the real winners? Ukraine got the "support Ukraine" vote and the UK got the "best Ukraine support" vote.

Yeah she looks gorgeous in the interview after their guest performance. But I missed the boob flash last year

As usual I recorded so I could fast forward a lot of the show.
I thought it was quite good this year, with some quite decent ballads.
I hadn't heard the UK's song, but many family members had recommended it, and I can see why.
I thought it deserved to win, and possibly would have in other years.
For a change we benefited from some surprise political voting and were leading after the jury votes.
In the end political voting by the public unsurprisingly saw Ukraine snatch the lead.

Listening back to Ukraine's performance a second time thought it was ok, but feel sorry for Sam Ryder.
