This thread has been dragging on for over a year yet still people don't understand what the regulations are.
What personal identifying information is there in a user name on here or with a punting phone number for that matter. If there is a report about you how are you going to prove you are estats in order to have it removed, something you would have to do.
BTW, have you contacted ClientEye and asked them about how they comply with the DPA?
I have.
I'm quite aware of the law in this area and quite sure sooner or later they will face some form of ICO investigation and I further suspect the new online safety bill going into legislation is likely to have big impacts upon them.
But seen as you have (or are) in contact with them, have you asked them about the posted tweet?
It clearly reads to me as a threat issued to a whole section of people, without due reason. What is the purpose of this tweet? What are the reasonable grounds to post this what may be considered a malicious communication? Less the moral grounds (i.e. if they hold vendettas like this, what is to stop them flipping on their members) it may be considered to cause distress and therefore harassment of people with no just cause? Not to mention the wide spread abuse the platform is open to.
If, for example people are now saying the platform has been improved to eliminate false content (although there are still obvious flaws) over the last few months, have all reports before this been removed to adknowledge the prior weaknesses?
It also has to be highly ironic that the app is sponsored or funded by vivastreet, who themselves have answers to give on how they vet adverts and how that connects to human trafficking, etc.
I think there certainly is space for a safety app for everyone (clients are targets of scams, robbery and blackmail as we see daily posted here), but this app seems to be run by people who hold vendettas, technically flawed and funded/sponsored by someone who themselves have questions to answer.
