I can laugh at most things. That Maltesers advert though?

It goes-

"Everyone this and grandma's companion Gerard"

"Companion?"

"He calls him that because he doesn't want to imagine us getting it on"

Then a gormless looking Gerard says "hello" and chomps a Malteser.

I find the advert annoyingly unfunny.

Awful.  Enough to put one off Maltesers for life.

Also they've been showing it since Jesus was boy.  If you've got an ad that people hate (and they must know this), get rid of it.

Similarly, Kevin the Carrot does Aldi no favours, in my view.  Time to put him in the grater.

On Talk Sport they relentessly have ground source heat pumps ads

They've got a couple of druids on it bolloxing on

Their pronunciation is cozeee rather than cosy & steddy [steady]

Talk Sport can play the ads just do it only the wrong side of the bridge  :dash:

on a toothbrush ad "design inspired by dentists"   not actually designed by them only "inspired" by them whatever that means

How long before "It's my life!" again?

I wonder if it ever caused any confusion for Damon Albarn.

Offline DouglasReynholm

No, he was often confused with Kellogg's All Bran. What a ponce: in the 90s he was prettier than his girlfriend, Justine Frischman from Elastica - he wrote her album because she had no talent. And looked like a lesbian Elvis fan. Imagine the fanny options he had back then. The other one in Blur who makes cheese is a bigger twat though.

Also coincidentally, Alban means white - and Dr White's was once a competing brand to Tampax.

Back on topic, I hate those mattress adverts that go on for three or four days. I don't want to put several glasses of wine on the fucking thing and jump up and down, I want to drink several glasses of wine and then fall asleep on it.

So now Christmas is over we have the holiday adverts and that bloody annoying On the beach advert with the chavy looking family with the fat boy who most people would be happy to slap his smug face. They can't be arsed to make a new advert but keep wheeling out the same advert year after year.

The felix advert with Robbie Williams and his smug shit eating grin. Surely he can’t be that poor he’s now reduced to selling cat food. I liken it to the character Hugh Grant plays in Paddington 2 where he’s advertising dog food.

Why isn't he selling monkey nuts? A monkey played him in that crap film. They made a crap film of his life, which almost no-one would want to pay money to see, but to make sure it made no money at all, they used CGI to turn him into a monkey.

I didn't dream that did I?

No, it happened. I watched it on a long haul flight and it wasn't the worst in-flight movie I've ever seen. But if someone had been given a free cinema ticket to see it they'd be within their rights to demand compensation.

The thing is, he's got a lot of fans who would have paid to see a film about him - if he hadn't 'been a monkey'. It's like they deliberately wanted to lose all their money. Not saying I like his music, but the film could have been profitable.

I find trailers increasingly annoying, they often last longer than ads and every ad break, there they are. I don't want to watch the 19th Star Trek TV Series, even if everyone in it is a lesbian.

No doubt he or someone else around him thought it would have more "artistic merit" that way.

I don't know much about the film at all but I saw a poster for it with a snippet of a fawning review calling it a "brave masterpiece" which showed how "emotionally vulnerable" he is. So that's probably what it's all about, self pity. Which we're feeding.

I flew Virgin a couple  of times back then and the ladies wore the iconic uniform - down to the heels - for greeting passengers and saying goodbye - although they were allowed to wear flats for most of the flight

Sadly the quality of Virgin totty has declined dramatically and on my recent flights not a single one were worth a second glance

If you go back twenty thirty forty years being a hostie was in comparison to today quite an easy job
There would be reaonably long layovers in nice places often two three nights decent hotels
So working on the flight obvs then down time at the other end with decent expenses
& now its a million training courses & exams blah blah
A mate of mine a pilot & there was a lot of shagging going on
A good few marriages & the fitties could take their pick of the Captains
Contrast this to the last decade or more layovers kept to the absolute minimum fly in hotel sleep fly out the focus on costs & profits
The airlines started putting pilots & cabin crew in different hotels shit scared that whoever it was would claim sexual harrassment etc & a payout
& its only when there are two night stays that the pilots & crew can go for it on the 1st night as they have to stay off the drinks the night before flying
So what was seen previously as quite a glamorous job sort of is now perceived differently
Back in the day the fitties would have become a hostie for a couple of years travel the world to nice places maybe snare a pilot / captain
Or a good looking wealthy passenger who turns left when they board the plane
& the airlines always had the fitter burds in business & first
You'll often find that now its the 'hosts' who are batting their seniority derived from not taking a career break to have children
What would Sir like for today ? Well not to have to converse with you for the flight would be a good start [arent there any burds who can serve me ?]
'Can i recommend the duck l'orange'.  No you cant off you fuck i only like a little bit of crispy duck when having a chinese
& the airlines have to be careful with employment laws recruitment often has to be without sight of any pictures etc
Previously they would compete to have the fittest hosties paying more & generous expenses
Now they have to be seen to be an equal opportunities employer & the result is as you mention not worth a second glance
& you can guarantee that in todays wokey world the munters would be straight in reporting a fittie if they thought that they were gaining advantage by shagging the pilots
In the olden days any such stuff would be laughed off & they'd be given their marching orders or put on crappy short haul
I asked my mate how many hosties he'd banged he wasnt entirely sure couldn't remember maybe 30 40 50 a good few every year
I've met a couple of hosties on my travels & they lived up to their reputation
They were more milfy one of them had since moved on from be a hostie although they all made a point of mentioning their job no doubt looking to see if my eyes lit up
& to entice me in when they'd decided things were game on & err ... it worked  :yahoo:

I don't know if anyone watched last nights episode of " The Chase" on Itv but one of the contestants was a male flight attendant. Crikey he was more camp than a field full of tents. It must be an easy exam to become a flight attendant because he was dimmer than a blown out candle.

Well to put the boot in - I noticed one advert last week using his likeness with an image rights attribution at the end - someone owns the rights to his image and is earning from it. Taxpayers are paying for it here:
