How good he really is? Against the so called other big six clubs in the 7 seasons he's played in the premier league hes scored-
Man City-2
Man Utd-4
Chelsea-4
Liverpool-6
Arsenal-11
and against Leicester who should be considered a big six club, he's got 14.
So in 7 seasons against those clubs 41 goals almost six a season, pretty good against the top clubs.

Even Mo Salah, who so many people say is so much better than Kane has 23 goals against those clubs in 4 seasons with Liverpool in the premier league, so pretty similar records, yet Kane isn't really good is he?
I think we've seen how good he really is.

I think Kane is a fantastic striker personally one of the best and most deadliest finishers in the world. 2nd behind Lewandowski I'd say and just ahead of Haaland.

He's also added more to his game as some one else said, dropping deeper and playing a almost a quarterback role (similar to Rooney.)

I do get what Blackpool Rock is saying (probably not in the top 10 players in the world) but Kane creates a lot of his own chances and goals. So many times he's got a goal from nothing so I reckon in a team like Man City he'd get even more goals and plaudits.

I reckon it's time for him to move on. He needs to start winning trophies and doesn't want to become another Shearer (1x PL title.). If he stays in the PL reckon he will beat Big Als record but only if he goes to one of the Manchester clubs, he isn't suited to Liverpool.

Offline cideruk

Personally i've never thought he was that good and a lot of his goals come from penalties and easy tap in's from goal hanging, bit like Lineker used to be, perhaps it's a Spurs thing

Yep, he's decent but not brilliant. The fact all the big clubs aren't beating a path to Spur's door must say something.

If he had any real ambition he'd have left Spurs ages ago.

That's because Kane almost certainly has no interest in moving abroad. Clubs do their due diligence way in advance of stories being leaked to the press. From a personal standpoint, there's a number at the forefront of Kane's mind: 261. It's no coincidence that Chelsea, City and United are reported to holding the most interest. Cuurently, apart from PSG, no other club outside of the PL has the finances to conclude such a deal.

It's simply undeniable that Kane is world class, arguably the best natural finisher in the league. He's not what I'd call a classic 'number 9' but rather a 9-and-a-half. He's actually turned into one of the best passers in the league. As an overall striker, I believe only Lewandowski trumps him.

I also have no issue with him having been loyal to Tottenham for as long as he has been. He tried to win something with his boyhood club, but at the moment it seems not to be. When players attempt to be loyal they're referred to as unambitious; when they opt to leave for pastures new they're termed as money-grabbing, glory-hunting parasites. :unknown:

Offline ratedj

City don't need him but if he does go there I think his lack of all round talent will be found out

Out of interest, what exactly is it that you think he is lacking?

Offline Rick2468

I think Kane is absolutely world class. He is an excellent finisher, really good at getting his shots off early to catch goalkeepers and defenders out. Scores consistently for Spurs and England. Football is a matter of opinion but really surprises me that people think that Kane is overrated.

Arsenal ??

But hopefully that's Euro 2020 in the bag if he's so great.

I will say that Kane does seem to link up and play very well with Son Heung-Min and they compliment each others game

Shearer was a true great all rounder and i'd pick him ahead of Kane any day

Cup final repeat tonight Chelsea Vs Leicester, listening on 5 Live and it sounds like a high tempo start, Chelsea just had a goal disallowed for offside.

The commentators did just say that if Chelsea finish outside the top 4 but win the CL then they still get a CL place next year by winning it, does that then mean that Liverpool don't get CL?

I know that was a possibility for 4th to not get CL but only if an English team won both the CL and Europa  :unknown:

Yeah feel a bit sorry for Leicester if they don't get CL as they have been in the top 4 places all season, since the 1st round of matches apparently.

It's out of their hands now if Liverpool win both their remaining matches then they will be top 4 however they struggled to beat an already relegated WBA and are away at Burnley tonight then at home to Palace on the final day.

However they seem to struggle against Burnley who set up to defend well then often get goals against Liverpool on the break and I think they stand a good chance of getting at least a draw tonight.

Crystal Palace have the 7th biggest wage bill in the prem. 10 players on over £60K per week, 3 on over £100K. They're having a clear out over summer though with lots of players out of contract so presumably they'll trim the wage bill. Given their outlay I'd say Hodgson's stint there was pretty underwhelming.

With the parachute payment they receive they will probably bounce straight back like Norwich and Watford have done. Bournemouth will probably join them by winning the play offs.

Several of those Fulham players are on loan and will immediately be off the books. Their outlay on transfers has been reasonable too.

Paarachute money is slowly destroying all genuine competition in the prem. It's hilarious to hear all the outrage about the "uncompetitive closed shop" super league with no relegation yet the prem is barely any different. The prem is rapidly becoming a 23-team closed shop where 3 of those teams occasionally have a quick dip into EFL for a season. It didn't used to be so bad but the rise in foreign TV money in past couple of seasons has really exacerbated the gap.
Next season in the Championship Fulham, WBA and Sheff UTD will have around £60 million TV income, Huddersfield will have around £18 million and the other 18 teams £5 million apiece.... talk about fighting with one hand tied behind your back.

I remember when they got relegated a couple of seasons ago( 2018/19) they had spent millions on the team. Most of them poor value for money.  I hope they stick with Scott Parker as manager though.

So it's Chelsea, Liverpool and Leicester fighting it out for 3rd, 4th and 5th

West Ham, Spurs and Everton fighting for 6th and 7th, but if Everton and Spurs don't win then Arsenal can sneak into 7th with a win

Chelsea away at Villa
Liverpool home to Palace
Leicester home to Spurs
West Ham home to Southampton
Everton away to Man City
Arsenal home to Brighton

So where is your money at, who will finish where

I have a feeling that Chelsea will play safe and not put out their strongest team, with the Champions league Final looming which may be a mistake, Villa v Chelsea Draw
Liverpool will go strong and I see them winning
Leicester and Spurs I think will be a draw
West Ham to beat Southampton
Everton lose to Man City
Arsenal to beat Brighton

Liverpool finish 3rd
Chelsea 4th
Leicester 5th
West Ham 6th
Arsenal 7th
Spurs and Everton miss out on Europe

Whatever happens it is going to be interesting, which game to watch on Sunday afternoon

So fans buy tickets forever ago
With reduced capacity there will the problem of allocating tickets between those people who have bought them
However what the cunts @ UEFA do is cancel loads of the cheaper tickets & issue refunds
To then resell
One of the quotes:

"Good to know there's plenty of availability on hospitality for #England vs #Scotland #EURO2020  #Euro2021
when my £50 tickets have just been cancelled
It's only an extra 1850 Euros, and comes with free prawn sandwiches no doubt"
Hits the nail on the head

So Boris The Buffoon [BTB] wants to secure political brownie points by being against the not-so Super League

Coz they are worse than useless, playing footy & being even more crap in Govt
The question is will BTB make any comment about UEFA becoming football's Viagogo ?  I very much doubt it

I always felt the same about Wayne Rooney as an England player. I know he's England's top goalscorer but he never really delivered when it mattered on the big stage at major tournaments.  To be classed as a truly great player like Christiano Ronaldo , Pele and Maradona you have to influence the games Rooney never did this. I think Harry Kane will be same.

Agree about Rooney. Definitely a case of unfulfilled potential. Apart from Euro 2004 when he looked world class before getting injured. He played in some fantastic teams but was rarely the best player so although he was fantastic in patches he was never in the conversation of top 5 best players at any time.

With Kane it's different as he hasn't played in a top top team surrounded by talent. I've no doubt that if Kane signs for Man U or Man City he'd be better then Rooney was. By the way I was a big Rooney fan when he was a raw angry Scouser swearing at refs and smashing volleys in 👍

Case in point, I feel like his raw ability was neutered a little when he was managed to try control it more. Big respect to him being Englands all time top scorer but could have been so much more

Everyone is of course entitled to an opinion, but an opinion will always hold more weight when it's backed up by logic. For instance, you previously said, 'I think his lack of all round talent will be found out' should he join City, so it would be interesting if you could expand upon what aspects of his game you believe he is missing. I don't like speaking for others, but I don't think anyone has implied that Kane can pull it out of the bag whenever it was needed, as football does not quite work like that, but rather that he is world class. His record speaks for itself. More often than not he has been extremely productive, with his 22 goals and 13 assists a league best.

I don't think Harry Kane is the most naturally talented footballer, nor he is particularly exciting to watch.  But he does have a fantastic reading of the game which makes him valued very highly in the inner echelons of the team (and it's management).  This also gives him the ability to be in the right place at the right time to score goals and assist.  This will also make him able to fit into many different teams (with different playing styles).

I completely agree with you. He is far from the most naturally talented footballer. I remember first watching him during a FIFA U20 World Cup, where he looked terrible. I, probably like many, thought he would be a one-hit wonder, but then it quickly became apparent that he was not going anywhere. In many ways he reminds me of Raul, who, like Kane, did not have any outstanding physical attributes, but he had just enough of everything that, when combined, alongside football IQ, produced a top quality football.

I don't buy this world stage stuff. Firstly, players like Giggs or Drogba are unable to shine at international level purely because of their nationality. Secondly, and with reference to England, the national team serially underperforms at tournament level. I don't mean in terms of winning cups - I mean just playing well. My impression of watching England at tournaments over decades is that the coach/manager inserts broomsticks up their arses before every game and threatens to execute anyone who passes the ball forwards. I feel it's impossible for likes of Rooney to flourish in these circumstances. I'm expecting same-old-same-old from England in upcoming Euros too..... The Blazer Southgate is probably busy greasing up his broomsticks as I type.
