Not at all what I expected. I'm not sure what the science and end of the world stuff was all about. As a buddy movie, it works really well. EM

As part of my Sky tv package I now have the Disney+ channel for free so started watching the first Daredevil series by Marvel. I used to read this comic as a kid and saw the film years ago. So three episodes In and I have to say it is boring.  It's all talk and very little action. I believe it has now been resurrected after a few years gap. Perhaps will give this a go and give up on the original series. To be honest I didn't think much of the film version either.

Tow (2025). Homeless woman fights to get her car back after it's impounded by a devious tow company. Based on true events, Tow is a funny, poignant tale about the underdog triumphing over adversity, it's heartwarming and inspiring. Rose Byrne gives a tub thumping performance as the lady who just wants her vehicle returned.Recommended.  A-

The Gates (2026). Three kids from the wrong side of the tracks witness a murder in a gated community and are pursued by the killer. Sketchy thriller that never really rises above average.  C-

Apex (2026). Woman on a solo hiking adventure becomes involved in a deadly cat and mouse game with a serial killer. Generic action thriller starring Charlize Theron, fans of the genre will probably lap it up.  C

I watched the Flash tonight on Netflix.

I'm pretty sure I must have watched it when it originally came out, but for some reason I had pretty much nil recollection of seeing it. I enjoyed it. Made me laugh several times, plus a couple of goose bump moments. I think it must have one of the best representations of the multiverse. I loved the different versions of Batman especially the GOAT Michael Keaton (I'm guessing Val Kilmer couldn't get involved due to health reasons? Would have been great to include the full movie set to date!)

Agreed… Watched it (or started to) last night. Nodded off as it was so dull.

Shame really as the three leads are usually pretty good, although Egerton has done a couple of stinkers i.e. Robin Hood and now this. Still got “She Rides Shotgun” in the watch-list, so may give that a try at some point.

I watched it because of Theron.

Theron lay the problem. (Ouch)

Project Hail Mary- cinemas, general release
Sci fi film based on the novel by Andy Weir. I had read the book some time ago so was interested to see the film. Ryan Gossling plays the main part. Without giving too much of the plot away he plays a scientist who wakes up aboard a space ship without any memory as to why he's there. It is about 2 1/2 hours long but it is accurate to the book. Worth a look if you like sci fi .

Seen it many times - great action film.

Seems I heard about a shot like that being made not too long ago, said the guy's name was Bob Lee Swagger. Never met the man, so I wouldn't know him.

Not sure how true it is to Mayan/Inca culture and the timeline it portrays but I think as a spectacular, thrilling and totally original piece of cinema that captures an alien world, it's beyond compare.

I saw the Micheal Jackson film. I enjoyed it, strictly because i do like Micheal Jacksons songs and it's nice to see some of those songs on screen, other then that, if your not a fan of his music, you probably will find the film dull.

I’d certainly guess it is the music that carries the movie.

Peaky Blinders:The Immortal Man
Was really looking forwards to this, found it slow dragged out to the finish,5/10

I feel this film deserves a bit more comment, although I wouldn't totally disagree with the above rating.

As a Peaky Blinders fan, having watched every series at least three times over, I was disappointed that there wasn't a seventh series, even if it were to be the last, to tie up obvious loose ends.  There was much chat about a film and the possibility of another series, so when this film eventually popped up I was delighted with the knowledge that it was going to be followed by another series (or two?) so was chuffed.  I was looking forward to seeing Arthur, Lizzie, Ada, Alfie Solomons etc all of whom had a lot of story left in them.

Without doing too much of a spoiler, all those hopes were dashed.  Arthur's grave was shown early on; Ada was then shot, Lizzie and Alfie never got a mention, and it looks like the future is about how Tommy's illegitimate son will carry the family business forward in the post WW2 years.

Tommy's own death was maybe the short highlight of the film, despite it confirming his absence in the future.

So I'd say 6/10 and not sure I'll be bothering with future efforts but I'll see.
