Peaky Blinders:The Immortal Man
Was really looking forwards to this, found it slow dragged out to the finish,5/10
I feel this film deserves a bit more comment, although I wouldn't totally disagree with the above rating.
As a Peaky Blinders fan, having watched every series at least three times over, I was disappointed that there wasn't a seventh series, even if it were to be the last, to tie up obvious loose ends. There was much chat about a film and the possibility of another series, so when this film eventually popped up I was delighted with the knowledge that it was going to be followed by another series (or two?) so was chuffed. I was looking forward to seeing Arthur, Lizzie, Ada, Alfie Solomons etc all of whom had a lot of story left in them.
Without doing too much of a spoiler, all those hopes were dashed. Arthur's grave was shown early on; Ada was then shot, Lizzie and Alfie never got a mention, and it looks like the future is about how Tommy's illegitimate son will carry the family business forward in the post WW2 years.
Tommy's own death was maybe the short highlight of the film, despite it confirming his absence in the future.
So I'd say 6/10 and not sure I'll be bothering with future efforts but I'll see.
