I don't want a serious relationship so not going to join traditional dating websites. Swipe 'dating' sites that cater for people who don't, ie Tinder and Bumble, haven't worked for me. This is not surprising since these are looks-based - members make a snap decision based on your photos. For guys like me, in your 40s or older and not good looking, it is a struggle.

And because I am neither good looking nor rich, then yes it does require a lot of effort to secure new arrangements. Given the number of timewasters, deluded princesses, platonic or online only girls, and scammers on SA, it can a lot of time and effort even if you are good looking and can offer a reasonable allowance.

On average, you have to send dozens of messages to get an arrangement with a reasonable girl; the common expression SDs on here use is "it's a numbers game".

Sorry, wasn't trying to pry. I'm just in a similar boat, wanting more than a P&D and looking to hear others' experiences.

Apart from the cost, what has kept me away from SA is precisely the time and effort involved. It feels like it can be as much work as an actual dating site.

The absolutely crucial point that I should have made is that as a fairly ugly guy in my 40s, I am fucking attractive and sweet 18 to 25 year old girls which isn't going to happen on any normal dating website.

And in comparison to punting, the total outlay for a reasonable length meet is usually less than an escort. Plus you're more likely to get a girl next door experience with a 'normal' gal who may not have had sex for weeks, rather than a jaded SP who has had 6 other cocks that day.

I use the same place all the time. Never been a problem. You just have to front it out sometimes but what are they going to say? Maybe if you use the ritz or your local family hotel it might be a problem but otherwise dont worry about it

I have a couple of favourite hotels I use and the reception staff sometimes remember me. Never had a problem and to some extent does it matter what they think? However, what I do try and do is find somewhere discreet for the SB to wait whilst I check in. The check-in at Mercure Paddington is the worst - as it is a very small area and the first time I used the hotel the SB had to wait on the only chair right behind me with the porter standing right next to her. When I used the hotel the next time, the SB waited in the coffee shop next door whilst I checked in.
Depending upon which hotels you are using I sometimes book with them direct rather than day rooms as prices can be less - however can’t beat the easy of booking using the day use app. Enjoy.

I normally arrange to meet a SB when I'm staying over night. One of my favourite hotels needs key access to the lift and I've walked past receiption with 3 SBs (sadly at different times) and they haven't blinked an eye. As long as you pay the bill, don't destroy the room and the SB looks over 18 they couldn't care less.

So……joined SA - caveat emptor: apologies for the uninformative nature of this post, but i’d thought I share my experience (I don't know, it might be useful or become a source of entertainment - if not, moderators please feel free to delete) .

Let me start by thanking everyone on this thread - there have been very good suggestions, and I tried to follow the tips up  .

After an horrible personal experience which perhaps has put me off from punting indefinitely, I have decided to give SA a try……; well this is my experience so far:

1) I have not approached any girl as an escort and have not behaved like a twat either….  ;
2) Don’t have a public pic on my profile, but shared my pics with girls who showed interest;
3) I used to work as a personal trainer and still train on a regular basis, and I am decent looking and not old.... ;

80% of the contacts thus far have been a freaking waste of time……mental asylum kind of stuff……”pamper me”……”dior…..Chanel……Gucci”……”show me you are  serious and that you can treat a lady’……. . two have asked to send money as they ran out of electricity or the cat was dying…… ; one has asked me to take her and her friend on a shopping trip to Harrods to prove that I had "serious intentions"…… ; another one asked me to buy her a property (and she would become loyal for life……)  .

Super honey’s have asked for 500 to 1k ppm (London but also elsewhere), and milfs are asking around £350…..ppm.

All of this on top of an enormous amount of work and effort……..; at the beginning, I was really annoyed, now I am just laughing to be honest, and it  is becoming a source of entertainment……(at least I get some amusement out of all this…..) .

I am sure that there are inner gems out there, and also that since the sex is going to be based (at least in some cases) on mutual attraction, it could be more satisfying than with a WG; also, a £500 ppm would be overnight or entire afternoon, so not exactly a 1 hour meeting.

The downside of all this is that, considering the fact that I cannot host, I would also need to book an hotel etc.(another waste of time....); so I have mixed feelings about all this. Hi all, just wanted to mention that I've recently been another victim of false rape allegation by a vindictive ex-SB. Had to go through the process of being arrested while at home and all that before having my name cleared which wasn't pleasant, to say the least, so here's another reminder again to be aware of the inherent risks that comes with SA.

A couple things I picked up from this:

1. Don't give the hotel your actual address, even if you're trying to make an online booking with your card. Just do it over the phone or in person instead should you have problems.

2. Don't register your punting number with the mobile company either - I did it to unlock the age verification thing for internet browsing and obviously it came back to bite me.

I had a scammer/blackmailer last year.  After swopping messages she demanded money, she threatened to destroy my "perfect" life.  Started calling my burner phone, trying to pressure me to payup within an hour.  Fortunately it was a burner phone so was untraceable.  I messaged her back and informed her I would report her to the police and that blackmail was a crime.  It stopped.
