Halley i have my own morroccon contact who sorts all the the accomandation i have known him for years so he is safe. Another advise i would give you is make friends with taxi drivers it will save you alot of money and hassle from cops and other clangs as he will advise you which girl is hassle or not if he has picked them before. . I have been using same cabi for last 7 years just get him bottle of JD and some fags and bobs your uncle.

As a punting destination, Marrakech has a lot of pros and cons, so it is not suited for everyone. If you want a cheap, chilled, relaxed and hassle free punting experience then this place is not for you.

If you don't mind negotiating, haggling hard, late late nights, lots of leg work, constantly looking over your shoulder and some crazy girls. You can have some great nights out there and Some gems can be found, but it's still bit of pot luck tho.

My last trip was tangier last month, haven't had the time to do a report on that yet. Might be awhile before I can tho.
I normally go with a mate or 2, for a better crack, otherwise would get bit boring. Im In Marrakech with 2 newbie friend's over a weeks time.

There's another guy on airbnb that advertises his properties with "privacy" and "no doorman" and his properties do really well, most are almost fully booked for the next 2-3 months.

Fuego de Chão - Brazilian restaurant with show.  Prices ££

Grand Café de la Poste - Nice place to go for lunch and catch early birds - Prices ££

Restaurant Comptoir Darna - Restaurant, bar and live shows and animation including belly dancing - Prices ££

If you want to enjoy traditional Marrakesh food then I would highly recommend Restaurant Bejganni (in front of Montecristo). ££

Apart from these fancy places, you can always to go Jama-Al-Fana for dinner or walk through the souks and inside deep little corners you will find small restaurants making tagines for local shopkeeper.  Give them a try as you wont get more authentic food anywhere else.

Been kech a couple of times. Can relate to most of the experiences that have already been mentioned. Just need to keep your wits about you really. Have seen the Indians ruining the scene out there trying to compete with the Gulf Arabs. They won’t even bother negotiating with the girl, especially the ones in the clubs, they start by asking for 3-4K and will not settle for anything less than 2k for overnight but after one round they just do one.

I dread to think how the scene will be in another couple of years as. From my personal experience, just stick with the strip and avoid the clubs. The club girls are over priced, crap service, and more than likely will creat issues.

CT - a really nice place to eat in kech is Grillade baite al shami , it’s on the road where the Pizza Hut is near to Macdonalds. Not too expensive. They do fantastic Lebanese grills among other foods.

Souk Cafe - located in the madinah, very nice place to eat authentic local cuisine. Reasonable price.

An update from my trip in Morroco - I arrived in Marrakech today an just got back from what can only be described as an eventful and expensive bloody night. So we went to Monte Cristo and the girls there are stunning. I spoke to the first girl who I saw and she seemed nice so end up agreeing with her a price and decided to leave. Now Mr A arranged the appartment through someone he knew and assured me no problems with guests as no security. However upon arrival there was security who said no girls I tried to pay him but he stuck to his principles. So then I was left with a girl and her driver but no appartment. First my brain worked and we ended up back at the club. However she said she knows a place where can get an appartment near by in residence Fatima zahra - she said she would pay for the appartment as I said i only have enough after paying for the taxi to pay for what we agreed. I should have bailed but my cock was thinking for me so went with it. Went in to reception and she said pay 600 to which I thought I will knock that off her total then she asked for her payment. I said no after we finish, to which we agreed. So went up to a shit and empty appartment with a bed an sofa and started the deed. Now I was uncomfortable as I had in the back of my mind this will not end well so wasn't the greatest sex. After we fucked she said her friend Sofia was upstairs and they have some drink so shall we go up I said no. She tried to be persuasive and say trust me no mushkila (problem) but I thought no way. After a bit her phone rings and she says Sofia is here. I quickly put my trousers on and went to the door behind her and held the door so it was only half open and I could close it if needed. After looking out for Sofia and said she not there I Locked the door and went back. So then I went back in the room and started session 3 after 10 mins and finally getting into the flow the phone rings. I heard her say in arabic she is coming out. So then I asked her in English why is she leaving and she said the hotel say we need to leave. I then decided time to be truthful. I explained i am not stupid i saw that when i gave 600dh for the appartment they gave her change from which she gave the driver 100 and kept the rest. She replied I want to end our meeting so I asked how much she expected now an it was more than what was agreed initially and I had already paid 600dh.  So I reminded her the arrangement was to stay till the morning. She then called her friend Sofia who had better English as she was the translator other than Google and was arguing with her first and quoting a number and then put it on loudspeaker. I had the previous conversation whilst getting changed and then Sofia asked me which appartment are you in tell me the number. I took her phone and said Im speaking to Sofia but decided im going to make a quick exit via the stairs. As I got to the ground floor I told Sofia I'm at reception come I speak to you there. As I walk past reception there was 2 men I assume from the appartment staff and the taxi driver. The taxi driver straight away called me saying brother...the basterd lol so I went out quickly with her phone a taxi driver said taxi to which I replied yes please and in arabic said with haste i placed her phone on the pavement and thought I had escaped but just as we were about to move another driver told the driver to stop. So I walked towards the appartment and the girl came out and I lied to her to say I'm waiting for Sofia outside like i told her and gave her phone. She asked me to come inside I said no. I then spoke to another driver and got him to help me by speaking my broken Arabic and filling in with English where needed. I also said if he helps me I will look after him as most people here seem like they would sell their mother for money. The girl came out again with the driver and a man from the appartment and said to come back inside I insisted no and that i want to speak in the open and speak to my new friend the driver first. They tried to say something to him but thank God he didn't back down and I understood the appartment man to say I'm Arabic that he doesnt want any issues. In the end Sofia came out and asked me several times to come back in and finish my night with her friend,saying trust me etc in the end I forcefully replied no and for her to not ask me again as no way was I going back in. She then asked me to pay her friend 1000dh but after much discussion realised I already paid 600 so in the end I paid 500dh to the girl and left. The cheeky basterd taxi driver who was with the girl said then you need taxi to which i told him to fuck himself and went with my new friend who the  took me to the appartment Mr A helped me get via a man named yusuf. He told the security guard I will go to the police if I don't and then dropped me home. In the end when I checked my pockets only had 70dh left! What an adventure in Marrakech! I had an absolute disaster in Agadir too on my last day but that's for another time.

Not surprised at the antics at all. By the way what was the name of the apartment building Mr A got you and where is it located as I remember reading a post by the legendary Nike from back in January where he had same issue.

I would say to all the fellow punters, never go to an apartment arranged by the girl as you will be putting yourself in danger in an unfamiliar place especially if you are alone. It’s only time until we hear that something bad has happened. Better to be safe than sorry. Look forward to reading about     your exploits in agadir.

Now when I tried calling him this morning my number is blocked. I would not rccommend him unless you don't mind being ripped off at every opportunity

He is deffo a money hungry guy. I wouldnt trust him too much. My advice would be to just pay for the apartment and not use him for anything else. Get taxis etc on your own. His apartment is reliable so i will use him again. Just be clear and firm with him.

I'm down in Kesh now. I came down to morocco this past Tuesday, spent 2 days in Agadir- will do a review in due course. One thing though, I am staying the whole duration of my trip in Agadir next time; way better than Kesh in my opinion.

Were finaly heading out to Kech tomorrow, we have a villa sorted, told the security guard wont be a problem. Anyone out there, were 3 guys so happy for any company. Were out there for the week

@Nike maybe you can help or anyone else, we want to spend a day doing "tourist" things, were thinking Atlas Mountins? Anyone any advice on where is best to book from or who from and what it should cost around? A buddy suggested Jemma el-fnaa and ask there. To save us time also any good quad biking dude and maybe camel / desert safari in day.

They is a couple tourist agency in Jemma el fnaa that you can book a trip to the atlas mountains.

Or you could do what a couple of my friends did which was hire a care and drive down you self

I only used him for Ourika valley trip where he wanted 500 dh. The actual cost is about 300 dh from a tour operator but i gave it to him as we already agreed and i couldnt be arsed to find an operator and it was my first time there. My advice would be to not accept this and just politely refuse and say youre doing other stuff. Every now and then i would meet him and buy him lunch (80 dh) but i tried to keep that to minimum. Its wild west in marrakech so dont trust anyone too much. Use him for apartments and keep it at that.

Don’t know about the Wild West, but most of the Moroccans will want to skin you. Having said that, there are some very nice people among them as well.

Let's put this into a little prespective here.

How anyone plans and spends their trip is their perogative.
As we have seen time and again, expensive and cheap is a relative perspective. Whay one finds expensive others may consider cheap.
However the op says that a tour compsny will charge 300, that will be most likely the case, however , u will be in a mini bus with other people, who u do not know and also on the time line of the tour company. In the ops case, I'm sure that he would have had a private car and chose his time schedule and would have been able to stop en route when he required. I'm only surmising , so if I have said anything incorrect, feel free to correct me. Also a medium size car costs arounf 500 to 800 dirhams a day to hire, if snyone wanted to hire and drive themselves, which I do , very often.

@Nike maybe you can help or anyone else, we want to spend a day doing "tourist" things, were thinking Atlas Mountins? Anyone any advice on where is best to book from or who from and what it should cost around? A buddy suggested Jemma el-fnaa and ask there. To save us time also any good quad biking dude and maybe camel / desert safari in day.

Speak to local taxi driver, dont pay over 800 dorhams for full day trip to Atlas mountain. It is worth going there and do bit of skiing.

He let me down in terms of he appartment as I have explained before. When I eventually spoke to him about it he said so needed to speak to Yousef as it was from him we took the appartment but my counter to that would be I only took it as Mr A put me in touch and said we wouldn't have a problem. I think Mr A (Abdul) is a clown he was unreliable on our trip as was late to collect us when we arrived, brought a rubbish car for the six of us and was a tight fit on the way back fkr the same price we got a nice van. He continually tried to moan about the price and wanted more than agreed and he messed up the appartment in Kech. I found a driver named [Removed by admin].

Mr A tries to offer you tourism stuff like show you around, take you oruika valley etc for significantly higher sums of money than the tour operators. I only used him for Ourika valley trip where he wanted 500 dh. The actual cost is about 300 dh from a tour operator but i gave it to him as we already agreed and i couldnt be arsed to find an operator and it was my first time there. My advice would be to not accept this and just politely refuse and say youre doing other stuff. Every now and then i would meet him and buy him lunch (80 dh) but i tried to keep that to minimum. Its wild west in marrakech so dont trust anyone too much. Use him for apartments and keep it at that.

Don’t put names and phone numbers on the open forum. Sorry to hear you had a bad experience, but other people who have dealt with him have praised him on here. Next time just be politely firm and tell it how it is.
