What exactly is going on with Olina these days? They used to be one of the asian agencies to aspire to. Only 5 or 6 years ago they had a plethora of superstar performers on their books with consistently great reviews. They are nor the only asian agency thats struggling to get the talent they used to either. Now Olina has gone from being an exclusively Thai operation to experimenting with Chinese WGs with not much success by the looks of things. Just wondering what's changed? Has the exchange rate made the idea of Thai girls punting here less attractive, maybe short term visas harder to get?... we used to be awash with Thai talent a decade ago... anyone got any intel?
I think it is a combination of things that all add up to the UK not being as attractive a working destination as it used to be. The drop in the value of the pound, tightening up on visas, tightening up on rules around letting accomodation to foreigners, greater policing of trafficking, etc.. When there are easier and more lucrative places to go work, why bother with all the faff involved coming to London?
It is not just Thais that we are seeing much less of nowadays. Even the number of Romanians I am seeing advertised has dropped markedly of late. Numbers of Chinese and Brazilian seem to be holding up, but I suspect that is because they are being "helped" to get here.
I used to use Olina regularly, but their quality dropped off due to the lack of replacement talent, and I can't remember the last time I booked through them. If you choose wisely, the Chinese now offer higher quality and value.
