Can't usnerdstand how they get away with this when ASDA are selling it at a tenth of the price? Are some people just to posh to have their boners powered by ASDA  :D

 :hi:
Funny thing I told a mate about ASDA will sell after a consultation but when he went he was told NO....

I went same store and was told need a consultation again so I sighed asked if there was anyway I could be fitted in earlier but no next day was only time free for the pharma. OK I thought pop in in morning on way to office. Returned home pharmacist left phone message on home number  :scare: :scare: cancelling appointment the store no longer had licence to prescribe it  :unknown: :unknown: :unknown:? .. despite me buying 5-6 times before (even took old box as was told to on last vist to make it easy as I was in system )   :dash:
To be fair they did say I could go  to one 10 miles away in superstore.  :( :( :dash:
I ended up getting at more or less same price nextday delivery Medexpress so ended well but the message was heard but OH  luckly she knew I was low on them and saw it as laugh :kissgirl: as chap tried hard not to say "Your sex pills" and was nervous on message.

Last time I bought sildenafil from Asda they were more expensive than on prescription.  I think I got 4 x 100mg tablets for about £10, yet I got 8 x £100mg on prescription for just over £8.

As an aside, I saw a girl last Friday who I see regularly.  I use SA now and I have seen her lots of time and rarely see anyone else.  Earlier in the week I had sex with the missus for the first time this year (OK, it could well have been the first time since the previous year as well).  I was hard to start with but then didn't stay that way through foreplay.  Hence why I have the blue pills just in case.  With the regular, I've stopped using them, I used them the first two or three times I saw her and then tried without.  After the sex this time she asked me if I took viagra, I told her the truth and asked why.  She said it was because I seemed to get very hard and seem to stay like that for a long time.  Proof indeed that part of it is definitively in the head.

Looks like ASDA can be hit and miss. For me, it always been a 'hit' and, though the price has varied, it has only varied from about £3 for 16 to £4.50. Maybe its something to do with prescription drugs being free in Scotland?  I also suspect ASDA pharmacies may not actually be run by ASDA and may be different franchises in different parts of the country. That might account for the different policies and prices.

Proof indeed that part of it is definitively in the head.

I don't think there's any doubt about that. As I posted previously, there are plenty of studies about the psychological effects of taking a drug. I'm a bit of an arse about not believing in the effects of anything 'natural' like homoeopathy, but the more you read about these things the more you understand that a belief in the effectiveness of a treatment is sometimes almost important as its actual medical effect.

I should have kept my trap shut. Went to ASDA to stock up. 36 quid for 16! Their excuse was that the price I've had in the past (4 - 6 quid) was a mistake as it was the price for customers with a doctor's prescription. Not sure I'm buying that (or the pills...)

I think the time has come to face up to the fact that I might need a little help now and again.

OK, so I've worked my way through the thread, and am pretty sure I've got most of the requisite info., so apologies if I've missed anything and am repeating stuff.

Main thing is I'd like to avoid seeing my GP, mainly because whilst I know about patient confidentiality and all that, it will be clear that these are not for use with OH (she has complex medical history which means sex with her is a dim and distant memory - credit to her for suggesting I go elsewhere, but I'm not actually going to 'fess up to doing so...). Buying online not an option, as delivery would be to home - where OH might query "what's that package?". So, the recent news that it will be available over the counter is music to my ears.

So, given I'm about 1 1/2 stone overweight (booze), but fittish (3 x 5k runs in the week and 2 x circuit training), slightly asthmatic and early 50s, any likely side effects? Any alternatives?

There is an easliy found short list of conditions & drugs which are not safe to combine with ED drugs (mainly heart related stuff). If you aren't taking anything that is contra-indicated then given your description of yourself it's unlikley you're going to keel over just from popping an ED pill, either Viagra/Sildenafil or Cialis/Tadalafil. Just start with a quarter of a 100mg tablet & if that doesn't do the trick try half a tablet. 100mg of Sildenafil is quite a big dose & you are very unlikley to need that much. Personally i prefer Cialis as it doesn't give me a headache & lasts longer so I don't have to worry about the timing so much. The patent has just lapsed so it should be getting cheaper.

I'm not a doctor so really you should see one but like you I didn't want to see mine & I've never had any real problems taking ED drugs.

Hi D-WR, I too was very reluctant to ask my GP but in the event it was no big deal at all. In a recent ''GP Behind Closed Doors' on TV a guy was prescribed the pill to improve his masturbation experience !- the doc seemed quite unfazed. After all you could want it so your OH could give you a satisfactory hand job. However I would arrange to see an unfamiliar GP if it's a joint practice.

I must admit, though, that my situation as a widower is rather different to yours.

I’m 23 and having a bit of problem in losing erection just when I am about to penetrate. I highly doubt that my problem is performance anxiety rather than physical but I was thinking to try viagra anyway to see if itgetsbetter. Is it okay if I try it or I will never be able to perform again without it? I would rather fix my anxiety problem first but that needs a bit of time

It's Viagra not crystal meth! You won't get hooked on it just by taking one tablet. As said before, do a quarter or half tablet for the first time & maybe take a paracetamol if you get a headache & drink water as well.

Yes try half of a 100mg tablet and you will get rock hard, stay rock hard, shoot your load and still be hard, you will become a stud!
Go for it young fella and thank me later. You will be the talk of the girls locker room and never be without a date!

Why don't you ask your GP for a general health check up ( or even go private). You do not need to state the real reason why- just say you are thinking of joining a gym and they have suggested you get checked out. If you "pass" you can then visit Lloyds / Asda and get your supplies over the counter.

Viagra works regardless of whether the cause is mental or physical. Go for it, a few successful shags will soon cure your anxiety.

Get into the habit of buying on line vitamin supplements or anything else that comes in small packets. When she is used to the regular deliveries, and stops asking what they are, then order your sildenafil.

I'd disagree a  bit with what others have said. Your instinct is right; you'd be better to sort your anxiety problem than resort to using drugs to mask it. Viagra may not be addictive but, especially if the problem is mental, you do risk developing a dependency (real or imagined) on it to perform. At your age, this would not be a good thing. You have plenty time to sort the underlying cause (unlike some of us old gits), so work on finding out what is causing your anxiety first. Good luck.

Cheers for the solid advice. I think I will go with your recommendation and sacrifice a bit until I sort out  my anxiety rather than masking the problem with viagra and perhaps become dependent on it to perform

Ordered 8 tablets of Tadalafil, £50 with Superdrug, order approved and dispatched next day. And I have chosen "collection at my local post office". Previously was buying Cialis from my neighbor bodybuilder, 4x£20, he has all sorts of stuff from his sources. But he moved to a different city. So I ended up paying online £10 more than I used to. Cialis is just a branded overpriced Tadalafil and I don't see any difference here

Xcitrex is one of those herbal products that make wild claims but don't publish their ingredients so you actually don't know what you're taking. You should definitely try the real stuff, either Viagra/Sildenafil or Cialis/Tadalafil.

I quite agree. The ingredients are quite easy to find but alone aren’t going to do much for performance

Here’s the ingredients, no quantities, and wild promotional review. Some of the ingredients are good for you like Gingko but comparing it to tadalafil is like saying eat a steak a day to improve testosterone. Sure it ‘works’ — just not necessarily enough to be clinically measurable beyond a ‘user satisfaction’ rating. Plus side effects of course. Good if you’re on SSRIs in quite a few cases.

More reliably:
“A single dose of 300 mg GBE had a small but significant facilitatory effect on physiological, but not subjective, sexual arousal compared to placebo in 99 sexually dysfunctional women.”

“an extract derived from the leaf of the Chinese ginkgo tree and noted for its cerebral enhancing effects, was found to be 84% effective in treating antidepressant-induced sexual dysfunction predominately caused by selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs)”.

You could just buy Gingko from Holland and Barrett if you want to try it and at least you know what dosage you’re getting.

You can buy 100mg sildenafil off website called med express 12 tablets for £40.The more you buy the better offer you get.It costs more if you buy more tablets i think it works out between £2 to £3 a tablet if you buy 30 or 40  off them.

You can just get them from India, less than a quid each, cialis the same. But people on here like paying extra for the nice Lloyds or Dr Fox packaging. India is globally the biggest producer of generics. The NHS used to buy a lot of drugs from India, not sure if they still do.

Do you know any reliable websites to order from India?

Yes I do. But I don’t give them out to people I don’t know — nothing personal, and no offence, but I decide on trusting someone over a long period of time and what I think of their contributions to the forum. It doesn’t mean new persons like yourself are not ‘trustworthy’ — merely that I have no information personally to make such a judgment. The reason is that the big pharmaceutical do everything they can to squeeze these foreign suppliers, who then have to change their internet addresses every few years or jump through hoops to get stuff safely and legally through customs. So I don’t answer enquiries from people I don’t know but I’ve passed on info to several long time members.

If you are starting from scratch, you can do as I did years ago: first make a small order and see how it goes. If you get ripped off then you’ve not lost much. Credit cards on personal accounts have a degree of protection with refunds (though it can be a hassle) or you can use bitcoins if you’re paranoid. Check a website for things like: a physical, locatable address, an enquiry line, branded generics with specified brand names from established pharmas. The one I’ve used gives a choice of several different branded generics. They also go through all the details of your order, confirming them with you, before accepting any cash. They have pharmacists that will discuss and advise by email and withdraw products that have a short expiry date.

Now a note of caution for the very cautious: Any pharma has an ‘accident’ occasionally. India is the world’s biggest supplier of generics. So if they have a say one product recall on one batch in the space of seven years that might be equivalent to twenty years with a western generics company (say from Britain, USA or Canada). If things were the same price, I’d order from a U.K. supplier. But they’re not. The difference, even now, is many hundred percent. It’s almost like, “Do you eat street food when abroad or only dine at the best restaurants? Do you enjoy OWO or always cover up? For me, it depends. So if you are a discriminating buyer, you can be responsible about it within your own safety margins.

Statins

By pure coincidence I came across data that shows how statins* can inhibit steroid synthesis in general in the body. We hear a lot about not taking Viagra if you have a heart condition but not so much about whether the meds prescribed for heart conditions themselves decrease the body’s ability to produce the testosterone which gives you natural (rather than viagra-boosted) woody.

However, it is not black and white with all statins and all ED drugs. Some studies suggest that Atorvastatin actually helps effectiveness of Viagra in men that previously had no success with Viagra.

As there’s rather a big variety of heart disease meds (and conditions), and a lot of the studies are pretty heavy on the technical, this is one instance where I’d suggest that if you have meds for any sort of heart condition and also require ED meds such as sildenafil (Viagra) or tadalafil (Cialis) or vardenafil (Levitra, Staxyn) or avanafil (Stendra) that you might want to get your doctor to look into the particular interactions of whatever he or she is recommending.

A doctor will generally prescribe the cheapest that appears effective. If that doesn’t work or is contra-indicated because of severe dangers or side effects after using it for a trial period then he or she may well give you something more suitable even if more expensive.

This applies for people who are comfortable discussing it with their doctor.

There’s a good summary of evidence that’s not too technical is at the end of this article

But as it is behind a firewall I’ve attached just the conclusions in a scan.
Basically there’s probably no reason why you shouldn’t get effective ED meds AND treatment for (especially minor) heart conditions.

Just got my 1st Sildenafil prescription, doc only gave me 4x 50mg as a trial, then go from there.  Doc gave me very little advice, and had to consult a book when I asked if I could take it on an empty stomach.  But i was pretty clued up after reading on here.  So I stayed well hydrated during the day, took it 1h prior to action, when the time came I noticed a slight sniffle in my nose, and the morning after I had a slight headache, but that disappeared by the time I finished my breakfast, and it got me bigger than I've been for years.

So being a younger guy so far without kids, how much of a supply can I expect to get on prescription, what experience have others had from GPs prescriptions?

Might not be a bad idea if you want to assess exactly how you'll react / whether there'll be any side effects.

On the occasions I've 'used', I've never gone beyond half-a-50g tablet as you propose to do - the worst thing for me is that after an hour or so I get a terribly flushed face which is not just a bit physically uncomfortable but rather embarrassing because it feels like a dead giveaway. I've since been told that drinking a lot of water can help, and Cialis has been mentioned as an alternative which is less likely to give that side effect - but I've not put either idea to the test yet.

So given with me it's more about keeping it up rather than getting it up (sorry if this is too much info...), you reckon 1/2 a 50 mg would be ok for an hour's appointment with an SP? Apologies for all the questions, but this thread is by far more informative than anything else on the web :-)

Same for me - it's just a bit of reassurance rather than any genuine, mechanical issue downstairs. As for whether 25mg is enough - it could well be, but no-one can say for sure as everyone's different. Trial and error is your best way forward, I'd say - but personally I would start with a small dose and if that makes no discernible difference build up from there. I can only imagine how bad the facial flushing would be on 50mg, but then again, everyone's different.

I have lowered the dose to 25mg over the years and now use Tadafill as a daily maybe 3-5 mg then I top up with 25mg Sildenafil 1hr before this gives the ability to keep going hard and under control which I enjoy the tadafil on its own I found gives me a more normal hard on which is why I top up with the sildenafil for the iron bar ;) I have found that mixing them (or is it the copious amounts of pumping and shagging ) ends up with a powerfull orgasm and me then feeling completely knackered   for a few hours 2nd come nooo way till a few hours plus :( I have used with the OH that I have been and am with so I don't worry about the effects showing  however the Tadafil lasts in system so I don't always top it up . when you say try at home don't waste it on a wank (both pill and spunk) I found that the balls just dry out more when using the stuff or is it age? :drinks: :drinks:
