Totally agree with a legalised area....but it doesnt mention Newcastle.

I think the comment from the police in the last paragraph says it all. For years they tried and failed to stop it so this was pragmatic approach. Makes perfect sense, also moved it out of residential area, again that makes sense. It's the oldest profession in the world and you'll never stop it.

But as Tiger said, nothing about Newcastle in there. Can't see the street scene booming,  but who knows.

It might work if it was completely   safe.....For both parties.
Can't see Newcastle  council being very enthusiastic  about it.
Saying that,  they are happy to grant licences  to gay saunas and massage parlours ......so why not a legalised brothel
