JazzMan, you are clearly experienced and your instinct is therefore probably right in this instance, unless the original post is from some spotty teenage fantasist.
Assuming it is a cop, why on earth would they be interested in bothering WGs, when they are doing nothing illegal, particularly at a time when police resources are scarce and they have given up on prosecuting a lot of petty crime?
I punt in Edinburgh, or did before theForth Bridge closed, and have a slightly better understanding of the position there. Not much action since the infamous 'sauna raids' instigated by the former Chief Constable, beyond a bit of low level harassment of some girls working from hotels.
Anyway, I agree the request for 'information' was a bit sus.
