Marty's behaviour was appalling last night.

I have no idea how he has obtained some of the information he seems to have.
Unfortunately people's phone numbers/whatsapp/facebook are sometimes unknowingly linked.

His blackmails were mostly used as an attempt to regain some sort of reputation he assumed he had.
It was also used in order to threaten prossies into seeing him that would not/no longer do so

Unfortunately I don't think anyone knows the answer to this. The outing came as a surprise to everyone.

Marty seemed to be quite good at worming his way into the more personal side of people's lives.
He was manipulative.
Perhaps these two were online 'friends', in which they shared personal information which was later abused.
Or perhaps they were in contact via whatsapp and therefore they both showed up on each others 'people you may know' section. In which case he would have a name and photograph, as well as any other information which might have not been private.

Marty had an obsessive nature and demonstrated stalkerish behaviour on a number of occasions.

Either way, it shows that you can't be too careful.
