Obviously high profile people have been exposed. Do you think this happens regularly? It's a potential blackmail to anyone regardless of status.

Of course we do after all how else could we blackmail Fred the builder or John the factory worker for all their money that they don't have. Not forgetting we also pay investigators to find out the real names and addresses of all our clients as well as wives details and employer. We have nothing better to do than waste time and money doing this just like we just love to research all those videos of men we are soon not attracted to fucking us

What a bloody stupid question.  Of course the majority of us don't bother filming clients. Why would we. You are anonymous. We don't know or care who you are. Although the odd prossie will record the punt if you happen to be rather famous and will commit job suicide by selling their story as they wont ever be able to do this work again after

The time and effort versus reward just would not be worth it for normal Joe blogs. We can earn more in a day than he earns a week so the time and effort blackmailing for maybe a grand just isn't worth it as that is just a busy days work if we decided to work a full day. It would take more effort trying to blackmail someone to bother with

Some punters are a little TOO paranoid, me-thinks. Your comments are, I'm guessing, spot-on.. except
you do generalise that a WG can earn more in a day than a punter earns in a week, i think.

I imagine Dani is right.

How many who write here make £1000 a week after tax?

As WGs don't pay tax that alone is a bonus.

It's not just WG's who pay little to no tax...
Anyone self employed, who earns £60 - £80k should be able to minimise their tax bill down to 7 or £8,000pa and no NI Conts either

Agree but how many WGs declare their earnings. As Dani had mentioned if WGs earn more then surely they must be earning more than 7 to 8,000 pa.

Corporation tax is a bitch! 10% of turnover is about the best I can get it down to as a self employed limited plc.  :)

I know of a WG who had HMRC show up to interview her at her home. She even declares income and is listed as an alternative therapist.

???? Of course they do. I'm talking about their tax bill (if they pay tax that is) not their earnings ceiling...

I very much doubt it happens regularly or we would hear more about it on here, blackmail is a VERY serious offence so anyone with a brain cell would ensure their target had serious money to make it worth their while, the only exception to that is some WGs and pimps are as thick as pig shit so who knows what they might do.

As ever my advice to punters is punt as anonymously as possible while still posting on here and reduce the chances of problems including this occurring.

Offline winkywanky

I think the chances of being blackmailed are very small, it's a very serious offence in the eyes of the law.

What's far more likely is some nasty little gormless bint phoning The Sun, saying: (adopts screeching, whiney cockernee drone) 'ere, I've had that **** ******* off the telly up my fanny, 'ow much will you give me for the story then?'

The fine, upstanding investigative journalist on the other end of the phone replies: 'get some film of you sucking him off and a few choice quotes and you can have £60K'.

That's the reality of it.

I make that and more as a contractor. There's a lot of people easily earning that in London.

You don't have to live in London to make double that, and more...
But talking specifics ain't for this site that's for sure.

 Good on you whoever earns that.  :hi:

I've never worried too much about filming, I've even allowed prossies to photograph me as long as they are in the photo too. Moss from LMP said in a similar disscusion that if they wanted to film punters the punters wouldn't even see any cameras.

I wouldn't put blackmail past any prossie no matter how punter friendly she seems.

Yep agreed, but then the corp tax grabs you if your a legit business...unless your into blackstar and such which is a right mither.

I went to one punt and got down to getting a bj, with me lay back on edge of bed in a small student accom and seen a f**in go pro on the shelf facing generally our way, my paranoia made me get up spin and go doggy while I had a good look and seen no light or power to it..

They regularly film me so they can show the footage to their other clients - "See - that's what a proper shag looks like. Why can't you do it like he does?"

It's very rare for punters to get blackmailed as that's a serious criminal offence that invariably involves a prison sentence.  Assuming you're not a footballer or TV personality, I think you can rest easy.

There was that Lord who got exposed whilst banging two hookers and taking coke - but that was selling the story to the papers, which is legal.

As far as being filmed, I suspect that some sort of CCTV filming might well be taking place at the doorway as you go in (I have spotted cameras in some of the London walk-ups), but not in the bedroom.

I may be wrong, but I believe the Sun's reasoning for running the Lord Sewel story was that it was in the public interest. If the editors have half a brain they'd want something to back up their claim because running stories about coke and prossies otherwise is inviting writs for libel. Maybe this was a case of filming to order because of who the punter was.

But I'm sufficiently anonymous not to merit it.

It has been reported, eligibly French Magalie films here clients arriving and leaving, but don't know if its true, but going by her state of mind, and what I have heard elsewhere, I wouldn't put it beyond her

Libel doesn't come into it unless a story is untrue.

However, the fact or otherwise of 'public interest' means very little to The Sun (or to be fair, most other tabloids). They conduct their 'journalism' by two maxims:

1. Will it sell lots of papers?
2. Is their own agenda fulfilled, and can they put their own self-interested spin on it?

In reality, they'll print anything which fulfills one or both of the above.

You're right, if you're sufficiently anonymous they'll have no interest in printing a story about you. But if you're in one of their 'target groups' MP's, 'celebs', anyone they don't like - the BBC, the police (since they fell out of love with them over the phone hacking), Labour politicians, etc, then watch out. They print plenty of stuff which isn't actually in the public interest, they just use that as a cover.

They set themselves up as Judge and Jury and tell you how to vote come election time, but when was the last time you ever heard of a journalist doing anything wrong unless exposed by other channels? Do these ring any bells...Phone hacking? Hillsborough? Elton John rent-boy slurs? Accusing the BBC of treason over Iraq when infact the BBC were quite right and The Sun were talking bollocks because they were cosied up to Blair? And do they ever give the right of reply if they fuck up, or even apologise? No.

And they don't want proper regulation because they bleat on about 'a free press' - that's patently bollocks, they just want the ability to print what they like to suit themselves, without any of the moral responsibility. TV News is regulated and they have plenty of worthy exposées, but they have to present a balanced view. The newspaper press don't want that, they want to ply their own blinkered and biased view.

By and large, they're vermin. Especially Murdoch's 'brand'.

Of course most would not there is no point to it, unless one of them has a regular and knows stuff about him and thinks she might be able to blackmail but apart from that why would they need to.

True but a lot have cameras at reception too so the owners can check the receptionist or girls aren't doing them out of money

Your last sentence is the key point "Bloke you've never heard of shags prostitute" isn't of interest to anyone.

Excellent post. That's why I never trust journos (I wonder how many journos are UKP members) and I trust them even less when the fuckers turn up here asking to interview punters about prositution/punting, etc. No matter what you say they will invariably add their spin to it.
