With people like this around no wonder shit spreads so fast

They're all scared of aids...I don't know anyone who has got aids, yet everyone has a big fear of it...it is an irrational fear.

It is really hard for a man to get aids, very few people have it apart from the very obvious risk groups.

Bareback sex is better.

It clearly is the first - and potentially a big deal - which is why the OP made the post - and quite rightly - it is important to highlight it. Antibiotic resistant STDs in Tokyo or the US - I don't punt there so I'm unlikely to be affected by them - when they appear here in the UK, it's more likely I, and other UK based punters may be.
Fine to highlight it,as I said a lot of punters knew this was coming and it had been discussed on here so I knew sooner rather than later a story like this would come out, only a fairly stupid punter would view this as a shock  :music:

Which punter has said it was a shock?

It's clearly significant and important, as it is the first reported instance in the UK.

Anyone who reads UKP knows that owo and stds \ risk and reward is a debate that goes on and on, so that discussion is nothing new.

What is new and significant, is this called super-bug arriving on our shores, which you have taken issue with me pointing out. My original comment which you took issue with was to a punter local to Leeds. If I punted in Leeds I would be re-considering the risks and rewards re owo and probably wishing the news of this outbreak had been in the public domain much sooner. To do so is only reasonable and sensible IMO.

AHve you seen how long the Romanians stay there ?  Yes as with all towns a few days and move on and on, meeting guys who travel and punt.  Wouldn't concern yourself with Leeds as such.

Would concern yourself with post punt hygiene as bacteria take time to multiply.  Post punt piss imperative to rinse anything out of urethra that is sitting in saliva ready to infect.  Washing maybe with an anti bacterial soap after, many guys forgo the post punt shower, maybe we will see more reviews involving a shower after in the future.  And of course regular testing.

Drug resistance is a tad worrying however at the moment there are a mixture of treatments that will work for this strain.  the resistance is to the normal first treatment the docs and Gum throw at everyone.  It is not incurable it is just resistant to the antibiotic mainly used by everyone.  It is however treatable quite easily with a mixture of medications although right now I cannot remember which ones (Rugby has my attention I am afraid) but have posted about them before when this topic came up previously.

There is a huge difference between drug resistance to one drug and complete drug resistance to all that can be used.  This strain is just resistant to the main antiobiotic that is used.  It means doctors and Gum clinics will have to start prescribing different medications instead and instead of just one type will have to prescribe two instead.
The only difference to us is that taking two differing types of antibiotics may sometimes cause a reaction such as fever and vomiting, cramps, sweating. high temperature.  So you may feel like shit whilst taking them

The US have modified their treatment with success so I don't see why we have to suddenly panic as our docs will just have to do the same.  If you do catch it then insist on having a dual treatment just incase yours is resistant as not all doctors are up with new treatments and rely on the patient to have done their research

Agreed dani, I've been doing some digging on this subject myself and have read the same info.

I don't concern myself with Leeds as such, because I don't punt there. However, I do empathise with the Leeds punter whose post I replied to earlier in the thread. And what has been reported is a national alert, not limited to Leeds.

Quote from: The Guardian, quoting Public Health England
This azithromycin highly resistant outbreak is the first one that has triggered a national alert

Absolutely no offence meant, but I take advice on STDs and sexual health from the GUM clinic, not from posters on the Internet. I have asked at the GUM clinic in the past about strains of gonorrhoea resistant to their standard treatment (azithromycin and ceftriaxone), and was told there were no recorded cases in the UK. Best speak to specialists and why GUM is better than GP for this as they have fingers on the pulse with latest knowledge unlike a GP that has so many things to keep up.

Indeed. Also re-reading that article in the Guardian, it's azithromycin that's described as ineffective against the outbreak in Leeds, whereas it goes on to say the standard treatment regime is not azithromycin on its own, but in combination with ceftriaxone.

Thing is the new strain is not virulent and no more contagious than before, that would worry me more.  The GUM know the combinations now, fingers crossed.

Having caught this lovely bacteria a few years back ive never had OWO since.  Its just not worth it.   Its easy for people to brush aside the risks or not be bothered about it when they have never experienced the pain and puss oozing out of your japseye themselves but speaking from personal experience, there is no way I would ever risk catching that again, particularly a strain which is becoming resistant to treatment.  Thankfully the "painful" injection in the muscle of the butt cheek the the tablets combination did the trick.  Lesson learnt and Oral with from now on.

Drug resistance is much more than a 'tad' worrying - it is extremely concerning. You are correct that 'drug-resistant gonorrhea' can be treated by 'second-line' treatments, but that is the worry - what happens when gonorrhea becomes resistant to the second-line treatments etc. Pharmaceutical companies haven't developed any new antibiotics to counter such drug resistance for decades.

I had it a few years back - burning sensation when I peed and some lovely green pus. I was travelling for work when it kicked in so had to wait a couple of days to get to a gum clinic.  The jab / pills cleared up the symptoms in no time. Far from the worst illness I've got - just some discomfort when peeing and after a couple of days feeling drained a bit like a flu because I couldn't get treated right away - but defo not enough to put me off OWO or punting.  :unknown:

i normally just have a shower using the girls shower gel and towels, but now with your post punt comment, i will take my own towel, anti bacterial soap and mouth wash, what else can we do for post punt hygene?

Post punt piss imperative can you expand on this?

should be be getting tested every 6 weeks or every 3 months cycle? i've seen girls on adultwork who say they get tested every 6 weeks and some everything 12 weeks, what time period is good for us punters to get tested?

Don't wash your japs eye with shower gel, that can cause a non specific infection, as for taking a piss straight away I doubt that does anything either way

Augmentine or other broad spectrum antibiotics are the best, but they are very expensive so GUM clinics don't like prescribing them

It washes bacteria out of your urethra - hence the fact that you have to abstain from pissing for an hour or two before a test.  However, it's probably not that reliable.  Better than nothing, though.

the reason to shower after a punt is for hygene reasons, so why is wasking your japs eye with anti bacterial shower gel not a good idea?

Piss cleans it !

You should put no foreign objects in as it is an irritant, and cause abrasion or a sore, then developing into an infection.

Probably same reason you don't put in other orifices to.

Label says for external use only.

my bad! i did not imply washing the japs eye with shower gel but using antibacterial shower gel to wash when you shower cleaning your private areas as well with antibacterial shower gel but not actually inserting into the japs eye, which antibacterial that kills bacteria is good to use after a punt?

It's not rocket science, the japs eye is sensitive and prone to infection so I would just wash that area with soap and water or you could risk an nsu, obviously wash everywhere else and the general area with as many things as you want! :hi:
