Why do some punters need a central London prossy on their doorstep?

I'm often mildly curious why it is that some punters when staying in Central London request recommendations for prossies on their doorstep. For heaven sake it doesn't taken that much time and effort to travel anywhere within Zone 1 or even Zone 2 if someone is worth seeing.
I can understand someone not wanting to travel miles out, and indeed it was the main reason I didn't go ahead and see Michelle a couple of years ago (went to see Amy in Paddington instead which was more convenient), but surely to travel anywhere say between Notting Hill in the West and Holborn in the East and say Earls Court in the South to Camden in the north isn't that much bother?

Maybe their scarred of being caught out, that way they can pretend to be going to a shop and have a quicke. Also many are fucking horny and want sex within 30 minutes. Saw a programme once about a prossie in Brighton, a married guy told his wife he was going to buy something in the petrol station. He rushed to the prossie, spent no more than 10 minutes with her then back home.

Because travelling by tube is ridiculously stressful at the best of times for some people. Why do that when you have the option of walking down the road or catching a black (or red for Jimmy) cab a short distance and paying a ridiculous amount

It can be, but leave plenty of time. You can usually get anywhere between the places I mentioned in 30 minutes or so. Obviously peak times (and strike days!) may be different!
I have barely ever been late travelling to dozens and dozens of Central London punts. Had more difficulty locating places in bloody Derby! And when I have the punts weren't worth it!

I think for some they aren't confident in getting about outside the very centre by public transport. The thing is though it could well mean they will end up paying more as many WGs and Agencies in central London charge more than outside.

Michelle Independent was in Chingford at a good rate of £100 an hour for years then moved some of her time to central London, Kensington area I think but at £130 an hour, still cheaper than most London Agencies whose entry price is £150 an hour and she has many many good reviews on here.

Haha yeah. I have the same issue in Sheffield when going to the attercliffe area. Everything looks the same and nearly impossible to find where I'm looking for. GPS on the phone never seems to work for me there either which is a nightmare!

Actually drove through Attercliffe on Friday. I was coming from a job at Tinsley and thought I'd spend the afternoon in the city centre as I haven't had a good look round for some time. Used to go to Sheffield every other week or so for many years and knew it like the back of my hand. Now days I feel like a novice driver in a strange place.
Attercliffe has changed. Never seen that huge Tesco before or the new Sth Yorks police HQ. Noticed GFE has a prominent sign, but couldn't see any other parlours. Found it really hard work driving into the city centre from Attercliffe, something which used to be a piece of piss for me. Was intending to park around the West Street / Division Street areas. Took a wrong turn which meant a bit of a detour. In the end, worrying about all the traffic, road changes and complications and at the end of it a substantial parking fee, I didn't bother and just fucked off home.
In my hey day of shopping and punting in Sheffield, not only was I a more confident driver, but I knew where to park for free. Now there is just nowhere within miles of the centre.

London is a punter's paradise compared to other parts of the country, and I wonder whether we don't become a bit spoiled by the sheer choice of great girls that is available, which maybe makes some folk lazy in their habits.

I look at some of the other regional pages - SE mainly, and it is completely moribund by comparison.  Very slow moving, with lots and lots of negatives.

So for me to spend 30 minutes getting to Kings Cross for a guaranteed cracking visit with Monique, or 30 minutes the other way to Hammersmith to see Elle is absolutely no sacrifice.  It turns out that my personal travel limit so far is Colindale where a number of very highly regarded Polish girls are currently based.  It just seems like a schlep, but Olivia is now there and I must see Khloe sooner or later, so one day I will head North...

+1 trying to find 90 minutes when I can disappear is the biggest limit on my punting.  I could afford to punt frequently but coordinating my libido with opportunity means I rarely manage to punt more than once a fortnight (and my wife knows and accepts that I punt).

I have repeatedly told them this. To say I live within half an hour's drive of several major conurbations it is a wasteland compared to London. Indeed there is probably more choice in say Paddington or Bayswater than there is in Sheffield, Nottingham and Derby put together.

I assume that these are punters who rarely visit London and aren't confident about finding their way around, or know how long it might take to get to Wood Green (as an example).

I've found that a lot of people who live in London are very reluctant to travel outside of the particular area where they live or work for anything.  I've always found it odd that anyone could live in a great big city like this and not be prepared to travel more than 10 minutes for something they want.

Sometimes I can see that you want to find someone nearby if it's short notice, and I'll sometimes search out of curiosity to see who is very close to me.  But on the whole, if I'm spending quite a lot of money on something like this, I'd rather travel for an hour or so for something worth paying for.

I stick mainly to my five mile central London radius so it's half an hour by tube max to any punt,I need to be a bit less lazy and get out to some of the suburbs,colindale springs to mind

That's partly down to people posting (for example) St Albans punts under 'London'

If someone finds the London Underground "stressful" then I'd suggest that punting is the wrong game for them.

Distance is also relative. In London travelling a certain 2 miles can take vastly longer than 10 miles outside London. Especially avoiding certain roads/areas.

Also, with the options of very close, why go for much further unless that is the objective in itself?

i made a special exception to go outside zones one and two to visit Colindale, who knew the underground was even above ground

Certainly true for me. I might typically have only an hour or an hour and a half free between meetings, and need someone within 10-15 mins for it to be worthwhile. If I have longer of course I can be more flexible. Needless to say, I love those days when I work near Soho

Travelling in london is relatively quick, cheap and easy. But it is also unpleasant and tedious. So most would like to minimise it where possible.

Yes sometimes I want to punt at lunchtime so travelling time needs to be kept to a minimum
