I wrote to Aw and they responded very quickly:
What they say is as follows:
We are sorry to hear of your unfortunate experience.
Whilst we appreciate your concerns, please note that AdultWork.com like many other social networking sites has no direct relationship with any of the members using the facilities provided.
We are not adult business operators but Internet technology specialists, and marketeers of online business solutions who provide a place where those that do can advertise their services and correspond with like minded persons. AdultWork.com is not an escort agency and plays no part in the arrangement or payment of Escort related bookings nor do we have a facility for booking deposits.
As much as we would like to we can't stop members others may feel are timewasters or less than genuine. If we remove them, then in all probability they will re-register and will go under the radar next time.
We do have means in place to identify them to others via the ratings and alias system and that is the best effort in prevention in these cases. If any booking was made you should be able to leave feedback. That is your platform to alert others of your experience to prevent it from happening again to someone else.
....... if you believe a crime has taken place from the activities you have chosen to engage in as a result of contacting a member's profile listed on this site then it would appear you have taken the right course of action in contacting the Police. We cooperate fully with law enforcement. They can contact us via the Law Enforcement area on the Contact Page. Please encourage them to quote dates, times and most importantly, nicknames.
That's it.
I thought they could at least place a warning on her page or something.
