Stayed in Halifax last week for work and found a great hotel if you want to indulge in a discrete punt.

It's a bar with 22 rooms 2 minutes walk from the town centre, it has parking some of the single rooms don't have en-suite but about half do
they charge £25 for a single. £30 to £45 for a double all of which are en-suite the price depends on whether 1 or 2 people are staying.

The hotel has a separate rear entrance so you and your "guest" can enter and leave without having to go through the bar. The corridors do have CCTV but it's not under constant observation so it's not an issue. I was unable to arrange a punt (not or the want of trying) but did get lucky with a local lady who I met in The Upper George Pub on the Thursday night when they have live music. We had a lovely night at the Old Post Office after a few beers and a curry (all in all much better value that an AW punt!!!)
