Who Sets the AdultWork Video Prices?

I was hoping someone would be able to shed some light onto where the amounts for AW video's comes from. I ask this as pretty much every single girl that offers videos on AW uses almost the same crazy price structure for their videos.

And by price structure I am talking 3 Credits for a 2 minute video. And 5 credits for 3 mins. And 10 credits for 4mins plus.

So we are taking £5 for 3 mins worth of video. Who in their right mind thinks people will pay this?

Part of me thinks the girl charges this. But like I say every single girl on AW uses the same price structure so this is suggesting maybe AW is doing recommended rates or forcing the rates onto them?

If it is the girls setting their own rates then they are being daft and very greedy. As you can buy these days a full porn clips for way less.

The video clips on AW are supposed to be teasters to get someone to book you. They are not there for someone looking for porn. So why charge £5 for a 2min clip. As that means people who may have booked you and gave you £100 for an hour wont now book.

An example of what I mean, I was looking at EnglishRebeccas videos. And she is charging 7.03 credits, for a 118 second video. You cannot buy credits by the 0.1s on AW, as 1 credit is £1, so effectively I would need to pay £8 just to see less than 2 mins of video.

And 10.47 credits for 4mins of video (so meaning £11 for 4 mins). And before people suggest she is being greedy. This seems to be the going rate that all girls seem to charge. So why is this?

And to compare, this is the largest video on demand website. For £11 I will get 2hrs worth of video downloads.

While on the subject. Why do they upload only 1minute and 2minutes worth of videos? Almost every girl does this too.

Why not if you want to make money from videos chuck up a 20 minute video and charge 10 credits for that. A guy seeing their own 'porn star' in that video would want to book. Than seeing someone for 60 seconds that they paid £2 for and get annoyed as they feel ripped off.

*Edit* Another example closer to home.

TawnySteele, on AW charges the same rate as Rebecca on AW. So that is around £2 per minute. But she has the same (but way longer) videos on her site for $10 = £6. So you get 90mins for £6 on her website, but 4 minutes for the same amount via Adultwork for the same stuff effectively.

there trying to cash in on guys who are undecided whether to see a girl hence the high price per minute and short nature of the clips.

if you are going to lay out £100 plus on a punt four or five credits to see a preview could be good value for some

I heard, ages ago, from a content provider wanting to charge less for their videos that AW enforces pricing limits based on file size, no idea if that is true or not, but kind of makes sense from AW's point of view, not that I agree with it.

+1 - I have heard the same from the girls - AW controls the pricing structure for the AW video's

All true.  The video format decides the file size. It's the file size which decides the price.

I wouldnt pay a penny for an AW video or private pics portfolio view. There are freebies on AW and also,there is plenty of high quality wankware on xhamster and similar..

They do set the price so you need to change the file size so that it becomes affordable.  One of mine was priced at £87.15 for 3 minutes so I reduced the file size and now it is £3.50.  It does mean the quality is not as good but you don't need HD for a short video especially when it costs at £84 more

It's a clever idea with videos to entice the undecided and have to admit I would pay if I really wanted to see her and it was a reasonable price.

Example:

If you upload a 14.15 Mb WMV file the minimum price is worked out as, 14.15 x 0.10 which is 1.42 credits.

If you upload a 14.15 Mb AVI file the minimum price is worked out as 14.15 x 0.05 which is 0.71 credits.

Note: You can leave the prices of your movies at 0 or less than their minimum if you wish and the system will calculate the price for you, (within a few minutes).
