I used to love this place, went regularly 10-12 years ago at the time they had some decent girls. Unfortunately it went downhill rapidly before closing. Some memorable punts from back in the day.

Went to Kareens many times 20 years ago. Loved the place. Met Becky Carlisle there too. Anyone remember the old guy who seemed to manage the place? BeckyCarlisle came close to being a legend in her lifetime. I saw her as indie. Welcomed with glass of decent wine. She had a stunning apartment with a gorgeous view across the sea down Leith way. Spotless performance, and the conversation was a cut above too. She had wonderful visions of high and noble standards for prossies (think,External Link/Members Only from Firefly if you have been lucky enough to see the series). Some rival prossies had tried to take her down and more than one spoke about her in quite jealous bitchy tones. One of the less pleasant stories told about her by another prossie was that she had persuaded a guy to underwrite the cost of her new boobs promising to pay him back in kind and never did (idiot for believing it I thought, but I really have no proof that there was any substance to the accusation). Told me she got chased out of one apartment when rival prossies mail-shotted her neighbours.

It really is not that good a position to be in, regarded as a "top dog" in the prossie business: better to be part of an echelon. As several get close to superstar status after a few fluffy reviews it is maybe worth bearing in mind that such adulation can be a major disadvantage.

I saw this first hand during Becky's brief but memorable stay at LSS back in 2005.
Basically she took the place by storm with her professionalism and her magnificent service in the room and it was too much for some of the "established" girls at the time..funnily enough the ones with the biggest gripe with Becky were the ones who offered such a piss poor time in the room that even the latter day Roms would have been embarassed by it.

The descriptions given by the maid were usually overly flattering, but not always. I learned to stay clear of Fountainbridge and Leith.

I'm probably too old for others to know these places.

I had my first ever punt in Crystals, it was with a gorgeous blonde called Caroline, who was amazing, got me hooked on this hobby right away.  Met her another once then she disappeared, met another few girls there, always had a good time there.
