Giving up or at least, slowing down

Hello fellow NE punters

To cut a long story short, I am reigning in my punting spend and considering quitting altogether or at least, slowing right down. I am not short of money thanks to my job (luckily) but I recently totted up approx spend for 2014 and was seriously taken aback!

As I have got older, punting has been a 'lifeline' for me in all manners sexual - After Mrs FB passed on, I have never ventured into the world of Cyber dating (or whatever its called) or even attempting to meet someone in a bar... much to the consternation of junior FB's it has to be said.

My life is very hectic and I'm sure Admin see's my numerous log-ins from airport hotels around the globe but, this is the only country where I choose to punt these days, it's still pretty much the best, believe me

Recently though, despite some great punts, I've just stopped enjoying it as much as I used to, so I'm going to take a back seat for a while.

Like a certain lodge of which I am a long standing 'member', I know one cannot simply leave UKP but this will give me the opportunity to continue being nosey and reading this great NE forum.

I have made some buddies on here in my short time and, I'm sure, a few enemies as well.

I hope you don't take too much of a back seat FB, never underestimate the value of the voice of experience. Even if you aren't punting as much, I'm sure you've forgotten more than most of us will ever know!

Maybe a break might be what you need to enjoy it again. Here's wishing you all the best.

I'm in the same boat as u FB. My spend for 2014 was over £15k when I totted it up. Been 10 years plus punting, was even top reviewer on another well known site many years ago. I have cut right back and found better use for my money. Did meet some great girls and some real shit ones... But been very lucky when I have found a good regular lass now who pushes all my buttons and a good friend too now... Won't plug her as I would hate to be seen as white knighting. Haven't totally given up though. Will carry on passing any knowledge on wherever possible though. In the mean time hope u lot have plenty fun too.

Good luck, I know how you feel. Had my first punt in 1997 and have been a regular since. There are still a few ladies around at present who I want to see but find it more and more difficult to find anything "different" that will inspire me to keep punting beyond the next few months. 2015, the year of retirements, lets leave it to the yunguns!

Well FB I dont think you will give up for ever and as has been mentioned a break from this hobby may  work wonders, nothing wrong in slowing down, I am sure you have many good memories of punts in the past but I know what you mean when you say its just not the same anymore. I have almost given up now and only see one regular girl that ticks all the boxes and when she goes as they all do in the end then I think my time may be up

I am sure it goes without saying that you are one of the more respected members on here so wish you well what ever happens but I bet it wont be long before you have TRAFFIC IN SITE

I think we have all been at the close to giving it up stage,I know I have several times.There is always one or two WG's that turn up and make you change your mind.My problem is that I prefer the mature type and they seem to retire before me.

Good luck, as per my thread, looks like we're knocking it on the head together lol. I've made it 48hrs so far but already having thoughts of 'one last duo' or maybe one more sesh with a favorite. Gotta kick it tho, so gonna try to be strong!! Good luck FB

I've find myself in the same situation, after being a veritable punting beast, I had an accident that laid me low during 2011-13. I finally made my "comeback" in December 2013 but have found the pull of punting less and less. Some of this is due to the fact that I don't get up to Newcastle as much as  used to ad some due to ongoing health issues.

Every now and then I get the urge, but I find it quickly dissipates again. Some of this is the ongoing insecurity I have with my appearance as I consider myself a totally ugly bastard, but kudos goes to all of the ladies that have made me forget this albeit for 30-60 minutes. I shall go on reading and wherever possible contributing as this forum has contributed to some truly excellent punts during 2014 but I doubt I'll ever hit my punting heights of a few years ago but I'll never totally give up either. Tried it and it didn't work

Thanks for your contribution it has been most enlightening.  If you need a new hobby may I be so bold as to suggest flying a rotary from time to time.  An hour in a Jet Ranger can be quite satisfying though an hour in some of the North East's finest may be less damaging to the finances.
