Author Topic: *Must Read* Attempted Blackmail Involving Earls Court  (Read 3333 times)

Offline Rayzaman

Had a punt around 15 mins walk from Earls Court close to well known roads but obviously can't reveal the location, that was with a highly rated and very feminine Brazilian trans. I then peddled back after the action, went back to Earls Court and took Piccadilly Line to Piccadilly Circus. Went into a shop, made a purchase and came out. Some man, around 5 foot 11, white, English, mid 30's looking, glasses, regular dress, started talking asking me why I was using trans escorts at a particular address, quoting the flat number. Said he was making a documentary for Panorama to expose people involved in this who are spreading harmful STDs and damaging the lives of the families.

I said repeatedly I didn't know what he was on about, and showed no signs he was rattling my composure. In the end he said he had CCTV footage of me and I would be exposed. He eventually gave me the number of a man only known as Steve and said to call him and talk about removing me from the documentary. He then scurried back down the stairs opposite the Eros statue at Piccadilly Circus.

I of course was flustered and a bit stunned after this. AI suggests it was most likely a scam as the phone number didn't even ring and Panorama would have showed ID, been more upfront, had a camera crew around and been more professional.

So in short, be very careful around that area, watch for anyone following you and don't show any ID (my credit card only has my initials and surname on that I paid for something in the store with). Don't admit to anything when questioned. I hope such people run into a tanked up MMA guy who will give them what they deserve.

Offline Malvolio

Who did you punt?  It sounds like the escort might be involved.

Offline Rayzaman

I very much doubt it. She has been around for years and I don't want to reduce her business, she doesn't deserve it. Plus at no point did he mention the name of the escort, only the flat number.

Your title says "Attempted Blackmail" - how did he try to blackmail you?

Offline Rayzaman

I imagine if I showed more vulnerability and admitted to having a wife and kids, he would push harder to try to extort me. Perhaps I'm wrong. What do you think his agenda was?

My guess is he's a nosey neighbour who's got a thing against TS and or sex workers.

Following you all the way from Earls Court to Piccadilly is creepy. I don't think any legitimate documentary or film maker would do that.

Maybe he wanted to see where you lived, or if you were going to meet someone, to cause a scene.

Offline Punting2022

Could be a rival escort scaring her customers away etc. Competition etc. Weird punter following people as nothing to do. Surprised on such a busy tube network he managed to follow you out and into the same shop.
your doing nothing wrong so nothing to worry about. Panorama have  better things to worry about then punters. Maybe report to police.

I read up a while ago here that men were following people outside brothels too. Prob the same thing.

Offline Rayzaman

Agreed. I didn't get an authentic moralistic vibe, he didn't lecture or try to evangelise me into a different way of thinking and acting. 95% of the time I go straight home after a punt so I'm glad the cunt didn't follow me home.

Offline BrixtonBrewers

This is terrifying. If you called 'Steve' maybe that's where the extortion starts?

Offline Rayzaman

Maybe but the number wouldn't ring at all

Offline BrixtonBrewers

That's a good thing, sounds like a weirdo just trying to freak you out then.

Offline Rayzaman

Yeah no way someone from the BBC would behave like that. He might just have been a social justice warrior trying to scare me.

Offline Malvolio

But if the punt took place in a flat, all he could have seen was you walking into the block, so how would he know you were there for a punt?

Offline Rayzaman

If he personally reached out to the SP, she was quick to share her address. Wasn't the usual protection some SPs have who want to check you through the window etc.

Offline Punting2022

But if the punt took place in a flat, all he could have seen was you walking into the block, so how would he know you were there for a punt?

Prob came back after 30 mins or an hour. Seen him walk out. TBH its obvious when punters are going into flats to punt. On Phone pressing a buzzer etc. Same in Hotels too.

How disconcerting. I agree it sounds like the setup for a scam or extortion. Bear in mind also that those could have been Meta glasses. You did the right thing: deny, deny, deny, and don't rise to their bait or say/do anything that could be made into "content".

I recently downloaded an app called "Nearby Glasses" that detects Bluetooth signatures of Meta and other glasses.

Very good point, I didn't think of that. I mostly denied but towards the end admitted I had been there but didn't say much. I think he didn't get what he wanted from me.

This is what I’d be concerned with. He's clearly been monitoring who sees this SP and for all intents and purposes stalked you. I do believe you could’ve been in trouble if you didn’t maintain your composure. If they were meta glasses you may have been compromised if he has a clear view of your face when he was talking to you.

I remember seeing something about a Russian tourist in Ghana sleeping with numerous women and using meta glasses to talk to them without their knowledge. Hopefully no footage of you appears online.

Offline pantywetter

This has actually crossed my mind as a risk before.  You could quite easily grab some pics, follow someone home and blackmail them.  I’ve started having a check im not being followed when leaving

Offline Poet

Thanks for sharing the risk and well managed. I wouldn’t worry much about it anymore as they have nothing to gain. Interesting it was an English dude -makes me think he’s a perv/stalker. Perhaps even an obsessed (ex) client

Same thing concerns me with the ring door bells, not cctv in communal areas but actually at the SPs door.

I walked on a Brazilian in that area recently , she had a ring doorbell which would have 4k video of my face. And let’s just say she wasn’t happy about me walking either. 🤷‍♂️

Offline da26

If they were legit Panorama surely they would have to get your written permission to use the material. And if they didn’t they would probably have to blur your face etc. Like everyone else has said sounds very unlikely it was them, and very impressive you kept your cool and innocence.  :hi:

If the harasser is just talking at you, first thing is to not engage but lead them into a public place like a shop or station with cctv if they insist on following. Do not engage just keep walking. If they escalate to trying to physically stop you then take a video of them if you can, no violence , no scuffling. You have done nothing wrong and have a case for harassment if not more serious offences which you can evidence. Don't get into a convo just move on. If you spot a police officer then just head over to them, if the harasser wants to force the issue then that's cause for you to have the cops intervene.

Having no knowledge of this person's true motive but them having very specific knowledge of where you came from (miles away), it is unnecessarily naive to discount involvement of the SP. At least tell the SP you were harassed after visiting them and describe the culprit. At best the SP will truthfully confirm they're not involved and recognise your description which they can at least report on ClientEye with whatever identifying details they also have.  If it is repeat behaviour then both of you have cause to report the prick to Vice squad as a possible threat to safety.  Anything less is you getting a sense they might be lying and may be involved.
So talk to the SP before disclosing who they are here.  Others here will then have been cautioned properly and can take measures when visiting.

Have a look at some of the camera glasses available and see if you recognise them.

Seems like you may've gotten away with just a scare but you need to close out some gaps in knowledge. Even if it was just a crazy that (hopefully) proves harmless to you you need to warn the SP and they need to take various actions if they know the nutter.

I'd be inclined to spend an afternoon sight-seeing on the road where the girl is and see if this bloke is still around.
Then discretely photograph and follow him and see where he went / what he did
But don't confront him

Offline Rayzaman

Tempting but not sure what good could come of it. He likely filmed using Meta glasses and already downloaded the footage. There is nothing hugely sensational on it but I did take the number of "Steve" to erase footage of entering the address. I think reporting to the police is the best option. The fact he offered for me to talk on camera about this activity, suggests he might have had an accomplice or wanted to get me talking in the "prelude" while secretly filming everything said on Meta. You would presume he'd try to get my identity so he could make the exposure threats too.

It doesn't matter whether or not he positively ids you he is menacing and harassing people which needs to be dealt with. So definitely tell the SP, if they recognise him then they can at least warn the SP forums if not provide identifying info to Police.

Interesting post. This particular one sounds more like some sort of weirdo who is probably a bit of a stalker over the girl.
Its not like he tried to blackmail you as such and you did well to keep your head.

I sometimes have this concern in certain punting locations. For example if punting in Manchester in a 10/12 floor block in the city centre who knows who and what or who you are going to see as their will be loads of folk around.

But in some of the satellite towns with small residential punts in a 2 up 2 down its pretty fucking obvious what you are doing there to anyone who wanted to snoop.

I do sometimes worry, and have posted before, ending up in some nosey resident or facebook local town page where you could be identified.

sounds like a weird combination of excellent spycraft-  following you successfully from Earls Court to a shop at Picadilly Circus, and ineptitude (if it was an attempt to blackmail)-  a payment phone that doesn't work.

I think this is really sound advice.

She may have a stalker and may or may not be aware.

That information can help her to get a non molestation order if she was in some sort of relationship with him. If he's a random stalker then she could get a civil injunction for harassment or a Restraining Order.

It could be a nosey neighbour, but she should be made aware, as what he's doing still isn't acceptable.

At least she can advise others on the relevant SP's forums.

I mentioned something similar on a post where someone got scammed. Got banned and the usual suspects posting wow and reporting  etc. Yes it was about a SP. but similar thing.
Good idea though. It is most likely someone connected to the SP or a punter though.

Meta glasses look like a new scam then. Cant trust anyone in glasses if confronting then

My thought on this, is there someone watching the flat, and acting as a spotter, and noting what you look like.  So after you get on the tube, this now becomes a long shot, as how do they work out where your going next

Is the spotter texting another person with what your wearing and look like, and then he approaches you to blackmail you.  If this was the case, how likely are they working with the escort in the flat

They either had a very big team of watchers looking for him, or he was tailed on the tube. One line so no changes and only about eight stops. Easy enough to follow him if he wasn't expecting it.
The trick now is to reverse the roles and follow the bloke to his home/office and then try to ID him

Or he goes pub insted of straight on tube. The stalker wont spend cash. Look around see ny1 suspicious. Earls court is a area that punting is so bait tbh. All those side streets, when a bloke knocks on a flat. Its ovs. So the stalker could target anyone.

Can always fit some jellies and espadrilles in the pack. It's avoiding the fancy singular shoe colours and designs if you're a bit of a shoe dandy that might betray you.  Of course if you think you might need to run then a sound but scruffy pair of runnable shoes needs to be in the mix.

(booming voice) "Coming up on tonight's Panorama, the men who visit transexual escorts.  Just what is it that drives them to expose their families to unspecifief sexually trasmitted infections? We find out on the streets of central London."

I just can't see it myself.  I'd have more respect for him if he said he was from the Cook Report (or the Cock Report, even).
